From Man Diet to Man Eating
Okay, as many of you know, I have been on a man diet ever since the incident with the panty-sniffing Irish boy. Basically, the point of the Man Diet was to take a break from all of the crazy boys that were crossing my path. Also, I wanted to give myself time to self-reflect and to settle into my new life in NYC. Well, I’ve given the matter some thought and I’ve decided that it’s time to put myself back out there: No More Man Diet.
I started the Man Diet in late September, right? September 27 to be exact. I figure three months is long enough. The Man Diet will officially end on December 27. At that t ime, I’m not going to actively seek out boys; I’m just going to open myself up to the possibility that there may be someone out there. Besides, the new year is almost upon us. I like the idea of starting 2006 with a fresh, new outlook on the whole Dating Scene Stuff.

I wish you much luck my funky brown diva! I think I may try to follow in your footsteps. By the way, I haven’t wished you a Happy Holiday Season, yet. Mwah!

So are you predator or prey?

Tonito Bandito: Thank you sweetie!!! (And, Happy Holidays to you, too.) By the way, I have an interesting “surprise” for you once the New Year draws nearer. Keep your eyes peeled.
little a: Oh, I’ll share it all!! Here, you’ll get each and every juicy detail: the good, the bad and the ugly. :-)
Raymond: You asked, “are you predator or prey?” I was going to give a quick response here, but I’ve changed my mind. This is such an interesting question that I just might make this the subject of tomorrow’s post.

Three months is plenty. You’ve done your time. Now get out there and accidentally meet some terrific guy! (they really only seem to show up when you’re not looking)

Aw watch out NYC! :-)

Ooohhhh! Your Man Diet ends on my birthday! Perhaps my good-man mojo will rub off and you will find the fun, stong, adorable man you desire. Well, you don’t have to find him Tuesday the 27th, but one day soon…

missbhavens: Exactly! Everyone says that, so it must be true: it happens when you least expect it. We’ll see what the new year brings. I’m not going to start looking, per se; I’ll just stop “avoiding.”
Berry: Exactly!! After next week, no (good-looking) man will be safe!!
MamaChristy: YAY, happy early birthday! … And, about the guy, you know exactly what I like: fun, stong and adorable!!

Good luck with the new plan, hard to believe 3 months has gone by so fast eh?
I’ve been trying to do the whole “happens when you don’t expect it” thing, but somehow I’m cursed.
Yes, that’s it, I’m cursed – and damn all of these coupled friends who are nauseating in their love at this time of year.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for them all, just a little jealous…

Cant wait for the posts on that one, look out NYC!
Goodluck with it, and keep us posted, ooh and have a great christmas and New Years (decided what you’re gonna do yet?)

Thanks for the good luck wishes!
And, I know what you mean about couples. I was walking down the street the other day and I saw this lovey-dovey couple holding hands. They stopped in the middle of the busy sidewalk and started smooching in front of everyone. It was slightly depressing. I wanted to curse them and rub spit into their eyes, but that seemed a little “asocial.”

Hey Darwin,
You slipped one in there on me. I missed your comment the first time around, but I think we hit “publish” around the same time … Either that or it’s so cold in New York that my typing speed is slowing. Must. Buy. Gloves.
Thanks for the good wishes! About New Year’s Eve, plans are acutally shaping up nicely. Friends are coming in town. I have an outfit (I opted for pants instead of the dress; it’s cold). Still no boy to kiss, but these things often happen at the spur of the moment, once the clock strikes midnight and the bubbly is poured.
I’ll do a whole post about my New Year’s Eve plans soon. I’m pleasantly surprised by how nice the plans are turning out so far.

nice! looking forward to the ’sex in the city’ -like post!!! ;)

If you mean Sex and the City posts like dating Blair Underwood or Jason Lewis … I certainly *HOPE* that I have that such success!!! :)
But, if my NYC dating past predicts my NYC dating future, I’m probably more likely to either: (a) meet complete freakshows that don’t know how to act right or (b) experience a complete and total man drought.
Only time will tell.
