lola: "My problem is that sometimes I don't consider the other aspects of the person that may not make them the best partner. So once I've learned what I'm interested in the realtity of the rest of the guy's personality kicks in and I'm out the door." Ohhhh, I know *exactly* what you mean! :) BTW, blind date? ;)

Nics: It's kind of like this.

MMM, I have a thing for a man who knows something I want to know. Physically I've gone from tall geeky guys to hunky blond and blue ( I do have a thing for blue/green eyes -- and looks are definitely a part of the package but I am always looking to learn something from him (and not THAT way either - i know how you think Stolie ;-)

For instance...
Current boy: kayaking instructor
Previous: yoga instructor
Past boys include: the Chef, the Mechanic, the Computer Geek and the Artist.

I'm now a class III boater, can achieve a full backbend, change my own oil, cook a steak, replace a hardrive and compose photos. It's like "dating for personal improvment."

I wanna surf next... Mitch? What are you up to?

Seriously though, I do tend to be attracted to people whose activity/hobby/occupation of choice is something I'm into. Or who I meet through an a physical activity I'm into.

My problem is that sometimes I don't consider the other aspects of the person that may not make them the best partner. So once I've learned what I'm interested in the realtity of the rest of the guy's personality kicks in and I'm out the door.

PS. Yes Stolie, my best bud is very cute. Very Very cute in the NY Super Fudge Chunk with the occasional chunk of Dough kind of way.

I've dated shorter men (say, under 5' 10") that were absolutely lovely; I've also dated shorter men who were complete terrors.

Educated or at least able to communicate at a level above the tabloids.

Dark hair

Computer literate. Doesn't have to be able to tear down and rebuild, but not a Mouseclicking 101 dropout.

There's probably more but I gotta go back to work.

Nics: Don't worry, I'm going to be eternally single, too. :)

Jay: I know what you mean ... about the, um, "nice and smart and funny" bit. ;)

Anita: VERY TRUE!!! As much as I joke about "looks being the most important thing", I simply cannot deal with dummies. I make an exception for my Paulie because he can't help himself, but the high "Smart Bar" is in effect for everyone else.

MamaChristy: No prob. :) Honestly, it's something that I know I need to work on if I ever want to see my dating life improve. :)

The whole physical attribute thing was just an observation and not an accusation. I just thought it was interesting and if you feel you need a handsome man, you go find him! :)
