If April showers bring May flowers, what do April flurries bring? Yesterday, it snowed in New York City. Today, as you can see, it’s still pretty cold. As I do my morning scan through a bunch of blogs, I notice that a fellow blogger posts a screen shot from CNN Weather, Weather.com, or something like that. It makes me wonder, what’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? Is it snowing where you are, too? Is it sunny in Tennessee? Are you in Texas running around in a little swimsuit like MamaChristy? Are grey skies above in London? And, what’s the report from the various parts of Canada? Whether this is your first visit to the Funky Brown Chick or your 100th, please use the comment section to tell us what the Springtime weather is like where you are …

In TN it is cloudy with lots of wind, it feels good when it isn’t blowing. I think it is supposed to get to 70 today, but it is going to rain tonight. I am going to one of my work sites in the mountains, about 2 hours away, and it is 15 degrees cooler.
It snowed here too yesterday, but we got it first as we’re only an hour and a half south of you. Very syrange indeed.
As a weather nut, I’d LOVE to:
Denver, CO
44.7 °F / 7.1 °C
Mostly Cloudy
Humidity: 28%
Wind: 9 mph WNW
UV: 1 out of 16
(no, tanning today!)
Clouds: Few 7000 ft / 2133 m
Scattered Clouds 10000 ft / 3048 m
Mostly Cloudy 16000 ft / 4876 m
Mostly Cloudy 22000 ft / 6705 m
(Above Ground Level)
The cloud Below Ground Level report is a bit hazy.
Crap crap crap. People are taking bets about it being a white easter. Last year at this time I was in a sunny beach in Florida. What the hell am I doing in this miserable wet rainy hellhole?….
I can’t wait for decent weather I’m SO tired of wearing a zillion layers and shivering my arse off.
from the T dot, same as NYC. mad flurries yesterday but it all cleared up in record time. which was good bc we were getting mighty pissed over here about it.
now, it’s brisk but wonderfully sunshiney and i can dig it.

Right now for: Dallas, TX
Cloudy
71 degrees / Feels like 71 degrees.
Later Today:
Windy with isolated T-Storms. High of 86 degrees.
From Dallas with love,
Erik Witha K (sans jesus slippers)
P.S.
Would trade the sun for some flurries. I miss snow.
From central California:
Rain and lots of it! We actually had hail a couple of times on Tuesday. So much for the hail cannons!
Looks like we might get a break today but its supposed to start back up tomorrow and go through next week. There has been flooding in neighboring towns but so far we’re okay here, except for my leaking roof! Son has been working overtime doing flood control and evacuating people in bad areas.
It’s springtime in Vancouver which usually means… RAIN.
Or, more accurately, slightly warmer rain.
Spring here is GREAT, and with our ridiculously short winter, it’s already getting to be nearly shorts and t-shirt weather, not to mention straining my neck to watch all of the beautiful creatures shedding their Gortex raincoats etc.
Yes, indeed, I love Springtime in Vancouver…
You know what it’s like here. Today it’s supposed to be 92 and sunny. We went to play at the park this morning because I think I will be an indoor kinda gal this afternoon…
So I think most of you might to be hard to convince about the whole “global warming” thing, huh?
It’s mid-fifties and cloudy in Lansing, Michigan, but tomorrow, it’s a whole new ballgame. I could wake up to sunny skies and 60′s, or have to wade through the snow to brush off my car (bitching the whole time, of course). That’s the way it is in the damn Mid-West.
Oh, and Erikwithak? What crack you smokin’??? I’ve never known a person to say that would trade the sun for some flurries. Stop hitting that rock, eh? ;o)
74 degrees and sunny here in the NW part of Jawja. Are ya jealous?
MamaChristy – stop hogging all the sunshine – like ErikwithaK says – it’s overcast today…. bummer.
I’m still wearing warm weather clothes – not a flurrie in sight.
It’s autumn in Australia, which does not really mean much, but we’re having half and half weather. Cold winds but the sun is still hot hot hot. Our max temp this week is about 30 degrees celcius, but it’s regularly been around 20-25 celcius. Right now at 10am it’s 18 degrees (about 64 farenheit). Brrrrr.
In the windy city at midnight: light rain earlier, 50s, daffodils, but no forsythia yet.
AWE: Wow. 70s? Mountains? I can only dream … Wait a minute. Wait a minute … skyscrappers are kind of like mountains, aren’t they? Sheesh! And, people say there’s no nature in NYC?!?!
goldennib: Sorry to hear that you guys got snow, too. :(
Howard: It’s good to be a nut about something! And, weather nuts are pretty cool. By the way, I hear Denver is BEAUTIFUL. I’ve never been.
Darwin: White Easter?!?! I love the UK, but I never really got used to the weather. And, yes, Florida is beautiful. I love the beaches!!
miss anon: Yay!!!! I love the T dot!! :) Sorry hear about the snow.
ErikWithaK: I love my Texan readers!! (I think there are at least 5 or 6 of you.) … By the way, what’s this stuff about prefering snow over sun?!?! I’d give 1/3 of my left nipple to see sunshine again. ;)
Mel Chickk: I LOVE California!!! … Yeah, I heard about the hail on the news the other day. Odd. You guys have earthquakes, hail storms, crazy fires, mudslides and other natural phenomenon that most other states never see. But, you also have sunny beaches AND mystic mountains. That combination is rare in the US.
Mitch: “Slightly warmer rain.” That’s cute! :)
MamaChristy: I know, and I’m jealous. ;)
AmyD: WELCOME TO THE BLOG!!! :) And, I know what you mean about the Midwest. I’m originally from Chicago where it could be 20 degrees at 8:00am and 80 by 3:00pm. You could wake up with sunshine and go to bed with snow. Midwest weather is horrible, but the PEOPLE are some of the best that you’ll ever find walking the earth.
Tonito Bandito: Yes, I *am* jealous of you, my love!!! :)
ET: I know! I think she posted those pictures just to make the rest of us feel jealous.
Little A: I know why it happens this way but I’ll always think it’s odd that, on the same day, it’s Spring in one region of the world and Fall in another.
JohnJEnright: Chicago. My beloved home sweet home. I’m going back for a visit in July to see my friends and family and to go to the Taste of Chicago. (That’s one of my favorite festivals in the world.) I miss Chicago!
And Chicago misses you…
it’s rainy and dreary out. If we’re lucky it’ll get into the mid-50′s.
It has been switching between overcast and party sunny the last couple of days. we had a touch of rain over the north part of town last night.
In Belfast today it was bright but a bit cold and windy. I wrapped up warmly when I went out to get milk and pasta. However by the time I was walking home the sky was grey and the heavens opened. Currently drying my jeans and trainers on the radiator!
There’s a high today of 82 in downtown A-T-L. Mr. Bandito in NW Jawja must stay up in the mountains! We get spring for about a week then it goes straight to summer. It ain’t called HotLanta for nothing! I predict a sweltering summer this year (hey, I can’t do worse than the weathermen). =)
Mint Chutney: 50s isn’t that bad for this time of year. At least you guys didn’t get snow. By the time I go back to Chicago for a visit (late June / early July), it should be scorching hot. I can’t wait!! :)
Raymond: Rain is better than snow. :) And, according to Erik, snow is better than sun …
Nics: Sorry you got caught in the rain! :(
Anita: WELCOME TO THE BLOG!!!! :) And, 82 degrees you say? I would kill for that kind of weather right now …
cleveland spring gray. white-gray fogging over. cool, endless drizzle. the smell in the air of decay breaking out into life. worms. depressing gray. red truck thru fog thru wire mesh colorless gray.
Denver can be beautiful just like any place, but remember it is a desert climate and we aren’t actually IN the mountains, but then the mountains are only a 20 minute drive, too.
Today, it rained, it snowed, it blew, it broke up, it sunned and it warmed up. Pretty typical. :)
wendy: Welcome!!! :) Cleveland Spring grey is probably very similar to Chicago Spring grey.
Howard: You learn something everyday. I thought Denver was called the Mile High City because it’s in the mountains. Hmmm … maybe it got that moniker for more scandalous reasons?? Sounds like fun. :)
It’s fall where I am. There’s been a cold snap – it’s only 25 degrees Celcius here(77 Farenheit for my American friends) and people are pulling out their woolies. Seriously fleece and scarves. A few degrees cooler and they’ll be pulling out their mittens!
lala: Australia is on my list of “Places to See Before The Little Angels Take Me Away”; I still find it amazing that’s a different season in the other hemisphere at this very moment. :)
