A Different Conversation

May 23rd, 2006 Posted in Dating and Mating, Understanding Men

Whew! Yesterday, I worked myself into a Matchmaking frenzy. I hope that things work out for our favorite Canadian, Mitch, and that he gets at least one great date out of it all. Big huge “thanks” to the women who sent emails, the many Vancouverites who visited my blog, and the American women who lusted after our young Mitch all day long. (Down, girls. Down.) In addition to the public confession of adoration, here are snippets from a few private emails that my lovely smoochie-woochie readers sent me about Mitch: “Man, that boy IS hot!”; “OMG, THAT’S MITCH?!?”; and (my personal favorite), “HOLY CRAP! HE’S HOT AS FUCK! DOES HE HAVE A GAY BROTHER?!” Yep, Mitch lives in the wrong country. But anyway … and, now, for a completely different conversation … Be sure to check out Conversations With Mags & Bro if you haven’t already. It will be gone before you know it; I’m probably going to phase it out soon …

OK, I think you should go double or nothing and visit my friend Jill’s site…she’s also a fellow NYC single girl, and has politely offered for us to help set her up (see today’s post). Of course, I instantly thought of YOU, since you ROCK. Who knows, maybe she knows a cool lawyer she can introduce you to, and you might know a cute man or two she could meet. I mean, you gotta use the resources that are given to you, I say! :o)

    Check her out: http://agirlhasgottoeat.blogspot.com/

As for the “Conversations” site…PLEASE don’t phase it out! We both know Mags and Bro won’t stop saying hilarious and ridiculous things anytime soon, and I particularly enjoyed the site! That’s just my 2 cents!

And yes, Mitch is STILL HOT. Too bad Supafabulous (linked on my site) isn’t single…she lives in Vancouver and is about as hot as they come. Hey, maybe SHE knows someone there for Mitch!!

Wow, I better get some good karma from this, too! ;o)

Oooh. Stolie I know you’re an equal opportunity employer. Amyd is right – mow you have to set up a woman! I mean, you don’t have to do anything. Maybe you’ll want to make sure nothing crazy happens with Mitch and/or his date.

But when you have a gift like yours, shouldn’t you share it? I’m so bad at matchmaking it’s not even funny. We need the Stolies out there. =)

Ha! Read the excerpt on Mags & Bro.

I know so many amazing single people who are looking and they are all (okay, not all, but most) cool and accomplished and amazing. I guess it’s just hard to find the right match.

Personally, I have set up three different couples to alarming results — one couple is long married and has 2 kids, one are living together and cinfirmed life partners and the other are moving in together this summer and are on the way to marriage.

    Damn I’m good.

    What were talking about again?

But, but, I LOVE “Conversations with Mags & Bro”! I mean, if you don’t have time to keep up with it, I guess I’ll find a way to survive. *sniff*

AmyD: I just visited her site. Thanks for the link; Jill is funny! About “Conversations”, I’m ending (actually, I’m putting it on 4-month hiatus) for two reasons: (1) this is an insanely busy time for me and (2) Mags has temporarily left the country, so we don’t talk everyday anymore. :(

Anita: Okay. I’ll set up a woman next time. Maybe next week or the week thereafter? Any takers? If anyone is interested, email me.

Anhoni Patel: Wow! Three couples??? You *ARE* good!

MamaChristy: Actually, I guess the appropriate phase for what’s happening to it is that it’s being “put on hiatus”. I’m not ending it forever, just for right now. When Mags returns, I might start it up again.

  6. Jill Says:

LOL!! AmyD, you’re too much!! And, to all you talented matchmakers out there, if you’re willing, I’d love the help!! :)

  7. Jill Says:

P.S. Stolie: Thanks for saying I’m funny!! That’s so very sweet of you. I love, love, love your blog…Mitch or no Mitch (although I’ve now officially become a lurker of his!!) :)

  8. Anonymous Says:

Stolie – I did not comment yesterday cause I was out late – came home and crashed.

Glad to hear converstions is just on hiatus…

I’m single, and would love to match up — BUT you know I can’t go “public” because of the “JUST SAY NO” person who doesn’t get it.

    E

  9. stolie Says:

Jill: Great!! I’ll keep this in mind the next time that I play matchmaker. :)

Anonymous E: No prob about not leaving a comment; I just had a brief period of Fabulously Petulant Youngest Child Syndrome for a moment there (i.e. the world should and does revolve around me.) I was willing to lend Mitch a day … maybe two … but after that it’s all about me again. ;)

  10. Jill Says:

Thanks Stolie! That’s very sweet of you, although, after the Mitchapalooza on your blog, I’d totally understand if you opted against it. Either way, if you meet any cute guys that you’re not into and they live on fraternity row (lol) please throw them my way. :)

  11. stolie Says:

Hey, hey, hey … never settle for someone else’s cast aways; you’re waaaay too cute for that stuff. :)

We’ll find you a guy! Hmmm … perhaps Dolly could give the next NYC Blogger Get Together a “Single/Dating” theme …
