Guess What I Did Yesterday
July 17th, 2006 ·
Welcome to Monday. I hope that you all had a good weekend and that the week is starting off nicely for you. My weekend went really well. Friday and Saturday, I went out with friends and I also hung out at Central Park. On Sunday, I spent the day out and about in the city and … drum roll please … Actually, wait. To shake things up a bit, why don’t you guess what the last bit is? I’ll give you three hints: (1) it doesn’t involve soccer or sex; (2) it does involve a Viking; and (3) if you click the “play this audio post” button that appears below, you’ll have the answer. Ready, set …

Hi, I'm
Okay, I just realized that audio posting is like getting a giant distribution voice mail from you. Like you had taken the time to actually call. *sniff* I can feel the love rays pouring out of my computer screen with the carcinogenic ones.
Congrats!! Hope you get that 2nd one now. (see how I’m not spoiling it for others who may skip the audio post?)
Okay, I can’t help it: Stolie’s been dead this whole time and is blogging from the great beyond after she drove into the Grand Canyon with her best friend who killed a man after they found out they were on Planet Earth this whole time when she found out that her best friend was actually a man who had a limp and was playing everyone the entire time.
Come on.
His name is Lars, isn’t it.
Olaf?
Thor?
Howard: Hey, that’s quite a creative mind …
Raymond: Lars? Olaf? Thor? Good guesses. Maybe it’s one of those. Or, maybe it’s Nils, Borje, Kristoff, Jens, Aleksander, or Bjørn? Or Fredrik, Håkon or Marcus. Or, Tobias. Or, Sebastian. Or … maybe his name really is Sven … Sven Svenson. :)
Stolie, you are one of my top 5 list for sure…..
Or to quote Ren’s cousin: “You are Ollie. He is Sven” Which I think is actually a quote from The Flintstones originally.
I can’t listen to the audio clip! The program opened, then froze.
I’m in despair!
…ok, so I’m not really in despair, but that sounds a lot more dramatic. I am still curious though!
Yeah! Yeah for a date! Yeah for a PG one because that means he’s not just looking to get in your beautiful panties!
Man the way Howard was talking I thought there might have been code in that audio post and you were really telling us that you have been abducted by Tom Cruise and were becoming a Scientologist! I think I’ll take it at face value…
In the town where I live, names like Sven, Olaf, Lars and Thor are the norm, but mostly for the older generation.
Sounds like you had a great time!
Lars!!
good for you.
btw: dropped by to say: you’d been interested in NYC blogger meetups? dunno if you follow the political blogs, but Amp from “Alas, A Blog” is organizing a dinner for August 1, which I’ll probably be going to. details here:
http://www.amptoons.com/blog/archives/2006/07/15/alas-dinner-in-nyc-august-1st-where-should-we-eat/
sorry, don’t have much time, but three things:
date: sweet!
anti-pwcd-tips: awesome!
date #2: cross my fingers it’ll be just as great. you sounded quite pleased ;)
okay, need to be off! tah!
Tonito Bandito: YAY!!!!
Howard: I loved the Flinstones!!! And the Jetsons … And Grape Ape. And Scooby Doo. Wait a minute. I had a point, here. What was it?
K: Okay, okay, I’ll tell you what the “surprise” is …[everyone else cover your eyes] … I had a really nice date on Sunday.
MamaChristy: I know. It was really refreshing! It was so relaxed and comfortable that it didn’t even feel like a “date.” It felt like I was meeting up with a friends for drinks … And, no, definitely not joining the Scientology whackos anytime soon. (No offense to the Scientologists among us.)
Mel Chickk: These are all pretty common in the upper Midwest as well.
belledame222: Lars? Hey, I thought we were going with the name Sven. Hmmm … maybe, on second thought, I should have chosen “Lars” or “Johann” since those are more typically Scandinavian. If this kid is in the picture for a 2nd or 3rd date, we’ll call him Sven Johann Larsson … Oh, and about the dinner, wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Firefly: Thanks, thanks and more thanks. :) And, about “sounding pleased” … it’s a curse. I wear my emotions on my face and in my voice. People who know me well can usually tell how I’m feeling just by looking at me and/or by the way that I say “hello” when I answer the phone. It’s a blessing and a curse. Blessing because I’m honest; what you see is what you get. Curse because I have *NO* poker face at all; I can’t hide anything.
Hey glad to hear you had fun….what have you decided about the mls? Would be curious to know. Can’t remember if i told you but i wrote about that post and linked to it on my blog.Pippa
Yeah, the date was fun. Really laid back. He seems like a nice guy.
By the way, MLS now falls under my umbrella of the 3 unbloggables.
#1. I never write about my family. There are random times that I feel like blogging about my sister’s visits and/or my love for her, my brother-in-law, and my nephews. I’ve also mentioned that I’m parentless. Other than that, the rest is personal.
#2. I never blog about my friends and/or lovers by name. Hey, it’s not their fault that I have a blog, right? They’re just inocent bystanders. So, I use everyone’s nicknames, pseudonyms, or initials instead of their full names. For example, believe it or not, Le Canadien’s real name isn’t Le Canadien. ;) His life, as my other friends’ and lovers’ lives are, their own. Their business.
#3. I don’t blog about anything even remotely related to work. So, now that I’ve contacted MLS and that the whole thing has moved from “pipe dream” to “possible meeting”, (whether it works out or not) that’s the last that you’ll hear of it on my blog.
Oh ok, good luck with it though. Pippa
As you were deciding to give Mystery Viking a name, I thought, “clearly, it should be Sven.”
Thank you for my first belly laugh of the day.
ciao
parnellpr: THANKS!!! :)
Sid: Great minds think alike! We really *are* cybertwins. :)
Finally managed to get enough privacy to listen to your audio post without my family thinking I’m crazy…
Congrats! I really hope it works out well for you :) It sounds like you had an awesome time.
We’ll see what happens. :)
