After reading about the history of thongs; which were created for males by males to protect, support, and ensure comfort for male genitalia and can be traced throughout history as a males underwear from Egypt, Africa, ancient Greece, the Romans, and to japan; where it was the primary form of underwear known as a fundoshi up until the 1950's;; I think the more legitimate question to ask is, should women be wearing male's underwear and not should men wear a thong, which historically couldn't have been worn by women due to all sorts of nasty infections they caused for them because of bad hygiene in the past. Idk, to call men gay for wearing something which was made specifically for men is one of the largest oddities I've ever noted. Ladies and gentlemen against this for men and for it for women, learn some history for christs sake!

I think it is about preference and what you feel comfortable wearing. Most guys who are homophobic would not wear a thong underwear because of stereotype that gay men wear thongs. The guys who do wear them, wear them secretly because they don't want to be stereotype as being gay. My parents brought tighty whitey briefs for me. When I was 17 I started wearing bikini briefs and string bikinis. Then when I was over 21, I started wearing thong underwear and when I got in my thirties I started wearing the boxer briefs. I like wearing dfiferent styles underwear. If you are confident and in good shape, wear what you want, no will no what you wear under your clothes. Only your girlfriend will no..

I'm 42, male and married and enjoy weaing very skimpy underwear. I wear extremely skimpy string bikinis as well as thongs. I mosty prefer the string bikini style and can only find them online nowadays. Right now, I'm wearing a N2NBW microfiber string bikini. I feel so sexy as it barely covers my front side, exposing my bulge all the time. When I get turned on, my bulge is readily accesible and visible. I wish more men would try these "manly" type of briefs that reveal the male physique in the hopes of exciting females everywhere.

I am an American guy in the south. 54 years old but in tip top shape. I have always worn unconventional underwear. I always preffered bikini underwear and speedos but very self conscious about it. However my preference for how it felt and how I felt wearing that preceded my embarasement at pools or gym dressing rooms etc. I wore my first thong 20 or so years ago and at first was so thrilled by the whole feel of it. All the reasons given before are ones I agree with, but on top of that it just made me feel special or sexy .. powerful manly not feminine at all. There was just something about it. However I only wore one occaisionally and never got used to the string up my ass feel all the time. However I was so inclined to get used to it and pardon the graphic description... you have to get it all the up so it pulls right up into the deepest crack because if it is not ... it does feel like a wedggie. After i got over that it is really the ONLY thing to wear and I would not wear another thing. Now I have a huge collection of them and it is a private almost compulsive pleasure. I just like them and how they make me feel and look. Think of me what you like and really whose business is it what kind of underwear a man wears?

For spring 2010, the jeans will be "treated in clean, translucent washes and enriched surface treatments in shades of white, ozone, and cloud." This sounds suspiciously like '80s acid wash.

I also want to lay out and tan in them but theres a school nearby and my family might see me! And what type of underwear can give me good support in front like a thong but cover my butt in back?

im 43 years old male, pretty good shape due to my physical job.
started wearing tanga briefs in the late eighties because boxers would get sweaty and cling to the legs e.t.c. very annoying (and sore!) when you are climbing telegraph poles.
at the time tanga briefs were worn by women as a rule(the ones i had were from british home stores and were made for men). and when i would get changed in the locker room after work, some of the guys would make comments and wolf whistle e.t.c. i simply explained the reason for me wearing them and sure enough, pretty soon i was being asked where i bought them.
i know that with us guys sometimes when we see something we would likely want to have for ourselves but are unsure of how our other male friends would react we tend to scoff at it when they are around as a sort of defense, a reassurance to them that you would not be seen with one of those things(though secretly we would love to try!) we are our own worst enemies.
that said due to the discomfort of my then fashionable boxers, and dislike of yfronts, i tried the tangas. soon after on a visit to replace the worn out tangas i noticed that they started to sell mens thongs also. i bought one to try.
this was 1991.
since then i have worn them regularly , alternating with tangas.
what i am getting at is that when i started to wear tangas, they were not at the time regularly worn by men but are now totally accepted as male or female underwear. same goes for thongs . we are almost there, the more men that want to wear a thong and just go out and do it, the more quickly it will be accepted.
