First Annual “Dating Week”

Why didn’t anyone tell me that last week was National Singles Week?! If I had only known, I would have devoted the entire week to posts related to dating, mating, hookin’ up and other things that single people do. Actually, fuck it, I’m gonna do it anyway. I mean, you know, this blog has already tackled such questions as Why Do Women Date Assholes? and What Does “I’ll Call You” Mean?. And, not to mention, we’ve also already talked about the third date rule and soulmates. So, yeah, next week is Dating Week at the FUNKYBROWNCHICK. Bro, I’ll have you know, claims that every week is dating week at the FBC. But, you know, this coming week is gonna be a little more special than the others because I’m gonna let YOU tell me the topics. So, tell me … Are their any specific topics that you guys would like to discuss? Any ideas for which dating questions we should tackle?

Okay, this is so the kid coming out of me (when does he not?) but embarassing albeit hilarious body functions and noises when first dating stories, e.g. which date is it okay to pull a dutch oven? How do you handle something potentially embarassing during the early part of dating? Stories about those natural things — we all do and shouldn’t be embarassed about, but society has put some taboos on them — happening during dates and how do (or did) you handle it?

But you know: tastefully written. :)

Here’s the rub, trouser ghosts seem to be funny in EVERY culture. In fact that reminds me I dedicated an entire post to the terms we use for nature’s little whispers.

As the relationship gets mildly serious, when is it ok to suggest meeting the date’s parents? (This is not meant for teenage relationships, when parents should be met before any dating happens.)

I’ve notice people feel less pressure when what they’re doing “doesn’t count” as a date.

Why is that?

First, Congratulations on WYSIWYG! Sounds like they loved you.

Topic – How does the dating scene vary from city to city? More women in some cities, more men in others, women have crappier attitudes in some cities and men in others? Stuff like that.

Here’s another one. Why do people like to be treated like crap? I treat a guy like crap he loves me. He treats me like crap I get all caught up. I know I’m not the only one who’s had this dynamic. What’s the deal?

I must have slept through the “Dating” class at school… if what “The Genius” says is true… I treat others as “I” want to be treated, you treat me like crap, there is no more “US” & I can’t think why I would want to treat someone badly!!!
