Monday, Manly Mondays
I smell testosterone. After I posted yesterday’s comment about the two hotties, I noticed that I just don’t talk about men nearly enough as I could. So, until further notice, I’ve decided to declare Mondays “Manly Mondays” here at the Funky Brown Chick. Today’s manly topic? The Death of the Metrosexual. Hardly a newsflash, many moons ago, the metrosexual man died and was replaced by the ubersexual who has since been (supposedly) replaced by the heteropolitan. Now, I’m not exactly sure what all of this means for the average penis out there, but it does make me wonder: in general, are the men of the world changing? Specifically, I notice that they’re getting more muscular. Take the new James Bond, for example. I paid Movietickets.com $12.75 to see Casino Royale. Twice. Both times … I went with female friends. None of us could ignore now much more, um, “buff” Daniel Craig is than Pierce Brosnan was. Maaaan, when I saw Daniel Craig as 007 walking along that beach in his tight little blue swim trunks, I honestly think I drooled into my big bucket of popcorn a little bit. Muscle are in. And, Daniel Craig wears them well. Very well. How bout you? Are you a fan of the new muscle-clad ubersexuals / heteropolitans or do you crave the slim downed metrosexuals or yesteryear?

I watched Casino Royale this weekend too! Daniel Craig was totally hot, and yeah he’s a lot more meaty than Brosnan. I’m still not sure if he’s a good Bond though because Brosnan was so smooth, whereas Craig is just gorgeous muscly eye candy. I feel that the svauve smoothness is something Bond should have and I dont quite feel that with Craig (yet).
Thanks for updating me on the latest lingo though! Yeah I was begining to be a bit bored with the whole metrosexual thing and guys putting on camp accents to gain acceptance!
Oh, and I have no idea what is up with bloglines either, I don’t get updates on it for you either! I also have the same problem with Jay’s blog so now I’ve taken to randomly clicking on your blog to check updates manually. Sigh…

Darwin: Wasn’t that movie GREAT?!?!? :) And, you’re right about Craig’s lack of Smoothness. I was talking about this with the ever-fabulous Sid a couple days ago. She brings up a good point: Bond is and always has been a trained killer. Craig is completely believable in that role. And, what he lacks in “suaveness”, he makes up in “muscle”. And, about Bloglines, I’m not sure what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to notify me of updates as much anymore either. Time to go back to manual, I guess. :(

I have to say it depends on the man….luckily I tend to like them all LOL :) I think there are some great looking whateversexuals out there..though if I had to choose between Pierce and Daniel (solely based on their bond characters)…I would choose Pierce (love the dark hair) :)

Yeah, I like it (and by like, I mean I would trade a kidney to have sex with Daniel Craig because OMG he is SO hunky and has made the Bond franchise hot in ways I never thought possible).
