Finished Christmas Shopping?
December 21st, 2006 Posted in Party and Bullshit
Ever the procrastinator, I’m finishing up the last of my Christmas shopping today after work. Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? Maaaaan, where did the year go? As promised, I’m putting the wraps on my second fake album, a Christmas album. I hope to post it up tomorrow before I leave for the holidays. Until then, tell me, have *you* finished your Christmas shopping? And, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, have you finished preparing for Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or your Winter holiday of choice?

I’m never finished. I have the “must buys” purchased, wrapped, under the mini-tree. But I always think of someone or something else, then I end up in the stores with all those who wait until the last minute. Good news is, if I get stressed out, I just leave. It was a last minute gift idea anyway, and I usually cover the necessary bases by about Dec. 10.

I’ve been mostly done for a while now. The gifts for J’s family were purchased and wrapped so we could send them home with them when they came for a visit in early November.
That said, “Santa” did a little shopping for the boys on Monday. So, like Pegs, I’m never completely sure if I’m done untill Christmas Eve. I *think* I’m done now, but you never know if I will see something at the grocery store (the only place I plan to shop in the next few days) that must go under the tree. Nothing like a Summer Sausage under the tree!

It’s not the last minute yet, right? I still have time?
I’m always doing stuff at the last minute when it comes to shopping. I’ll be done probably Saturday morning. hopefully. probably….

Hehe. Hehehehehehehe…. Me? Finished shopping? I still don’t even know WHAT I want to buy, let alone have I already went to the store, paid for them, brought them home, and wrapped them. That’s just CRAZY talk… ;o)

This year I was too poor to buy many gifts, so it was easy to finish them all on time (for once!) Ha ha – maybe I should use that excuse next year too!

I did do some shopping: keychains for everybody this year, I’m broke! Though, I did get two new outfitts: one for Christmas’ and another for NYE’s. I hate shopping ‘cuz the stupid holiday shoppers bug me all day long and I just don’t feel like being a big ass just like them! It’s late to do shopping, just furious shoppers show up now.. it sucks.. I’m so pissed!

I don’t finish. I just run out of time. I only shop for one person. I have 4 items so far. I need a few more.

Pegs: December 10? That’s great. :)
MamaChristy: What’s a summer sausage??
Laurie: Good point. It’s *technically* not last minute until Sunday.
History Chic: That’s really cool!! I made Christmas cookies for everyone one year and it was a lot of fun.
AWE: You’re very organized. :)
AmyD: Your comment made me laugh. :)
kilax: I’m right there in the poor boat with you. Only the kids (my nephews, the mini-geniuses) get gift.
Momok: WOW!!! A 2-month vacation to India? That’s FABULOUS! I’m sure you’re gonna have a great time.
Dragonslayer: Funny! :-)
Nat: Yeah, in New York, the streets & stores are all jam packed with holiday shoppers *AND* tourists. Double the pain.
John: Yeah, that’s a good point. One never *finishes* shopping for anything. :)
