Guess What I Did On New Year’s Day?

January 2nd, 2007 Posted in Dating Roadkill

Yesterday. New Year’s Day. Can you believe it? It’s 2007 already. Where did last year go? I’m still working on my list of goals and resolutions for the new year; as soon as I get that finished, I’ll probably post them here for you guys. By the way, speaking of yesterday, I just want to be sure to give a lovely shout out to everyone who participated in the series premiere of Dating Roadkill! To each of the guests — Alison, Maria, Matt and Joan — MUCHAS GRACIAS for participating!!! You were all very candid and honest; I appreciate your willingness to share your stories. Thank you, also, to the wonderful call-ins: MamaChristy & the guy in Washington with the boots. And, of course, big fat smooches to all of the folks over at BlogTalkRadio for making Dating Roadkill possible.

For those of you who missed the live show … fret not! Dating Roadkill is an internet radio show and podcast; you can choose to listen live or listen later. To listen now, simply click the image below and listen to “Worst Dating Stories Ever!!” (If you have any difficulties accessing the show, let me know.)

Next week’s show is “Bitches. Men Love Them.” If good guys finish last, good girls NEVER finish. So, if you’d like to be a Dating Roadkill guest for this segment, email me. I’m looking for nice girls, bitches, nice guys, guys who love bitches, etc. etc. You get the point. And, finally, of course, I’d love to get your feedback regarding last night’s show. So, if you listened to the live segment or the podcast, please use the comment section to share your impressions.

I’m downloading the podcast as I type…happy new year btw, hope you got my sms last week!

  2. Howard Says:

Sorry I missed it, but have it marked to listen to later (I have most of the week off) and sorry, I couldn’t participate either. I’m at my part-time job while you are live.

  3. Sarah Says:

Sorry I missed it, let me know next time around!

  4. Donna Says:

Great show! Your guests were too funny! Looking forward to next week :)

  5. FUNKY BROWN CHICK Says:

Nics: I didn’t get the sms but, about a week ago, I had problems sending and receiving text messages for a couple of days. Things are back to normal now.

Howard: LUCKY YOU!!! That’s great that you have most of the week off.

Sarah: Ahhh, but that’s the beauty of internet radio — you can either listen to the live show Mondays at 10:00PM EST *or* you can listen to the recorded podcast whenever you want (click the image in this post). It’s pretty cool because a lot of people tuned in last night and, at the last check, 84 people had already listened to or downloaded Dating Roadkill podcasts. Technology rocks. :-)

Donna: THANKS!!! I’m excited about next week’s show: “Bitches. Men Love Them” @ 10:00PM EST on Monday.

  6. Stefanie Says:

Cool. Sorry I missed the live show, but I’m listening to the recorded podcast now. I can soooooo relate to so much of the online dating stuff. (Sigh. But misery loves company, right?)

  7. History Chic Says:

I am listening!!! It sounds great….you did an awesome job, can’t wait until next week!!!

  8. FUNKY BROWN CHICK Says:

Stefanie: Online dating has gotten pretty big (or, maybe, just more “mainstream”) in the last few years. So, I think a lot of us can relate to that stuff. I know I certainly can. I’m not doing the online stuff now, but I’ve done more than my fair share in the past.

History Chic: YAY!!!! Thanks for listening. I’m excited about next week, too. That reminds me … it would be great if I could get a guy or two to be on the show to talk about the whole “Bitches. Men Love Them” stuff. If anyone knows anyone who would be interested, let me know! :-)

  9. MamaChristy Says:

Okay, so I can’t relate to a lot of the dating stuff these days, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate how difficult it is to meet someone. I liked the show and look forward to your next broadcast.

Have you read “Why Men Love Bitches“? I read that piece of shit for a book club I was in a long time ago and I’ve been thinking about it. I will be very interested in what you and your guests have to say. Don’t be surprised if I call in again. :)

Funny that you would mention that book ….

As you may know, Dating Roadkill’s next segment, “Bitches. Men Love Them”, airs at 10:00PM on Monday, Jan 8. Our featured guest is Sherry Argov, author of the new book “Why Men Marry Bitches”.

Given the success of her books, I just couldn’t imagine doing the show without having her weigh in. So, yes, she’ll be joining us. DEFINITELY check it out!! Call in. Who knows, she might convert you. Or, worst case scenario, the two of you will agree to disagree.

At any rate, the official publicity about her appearance on the show will come out tomorrow. I’m writing about it here in this comment because FUNKYBROWNCHICK.com readers *always* get the heads up about the juicy stuff. :-)

*smooches on each of your lips*
