Warm Bodies. Must Be Spring.

March 25th, 2007 Posted in NYC raves

I’ve decided to stop blogging about Verizon because every time that I use my fingers to type those letters together V-E-R-I-Z-O-N, I fly into a crazed, maniacal rage. Seriously. When I think about the hell they put me through, I swear it makes me wanna pick up my laptop & modem, hurl them onto the floor, bodyslam them and then get drunk off of that really cheap Vodka that comes in gallon-sized plastic jugs. (I’m an not an alcoholic … yet. Be patient with me; I’m trying.) … Anyway, so, apparently, it’s spring. Second only to summer, spring is quite possibly my most favorite season. Every thing is just, you know, “better” in the spring. People wear less clothing. The outdoor cafes open. Flowers bloom. The sun shines. My mood lifts. I reeeeaaaally like spring. And, I can tell that the season is coming because the weather has been incredibly gorgeous here in New York over the past few days!! How about you? Has spring arrived in your city yet? And, if spring isn’t your favorite season, which one is?

Today’s the first day of autumn here and overnight it dropped from 35 degrees to under 20 and it’s gloomy and rainy. I’m so not ready for this….and I’m jealous you’ve got spring! Enjoy!

“People wear less clothing.” Hells yeah, bring on the summer and the booty ladiez :P

hehe. Nah but spring is indeed a nice time of the yea, altho the thing is, with a horrible rainy august and cold winter month, off course you are looking more forward to the spring. No doubt about that. So im glad for all 4 seasons, but aside that I LOVE warmth and nice blue skies :)

I love the change of seasons. I even look forward to the first snow. A friend who moved to Chicago from Kentucky told me it’s not that the winters here are any colder. They’re just so darn loooong. I’d have to agree. I get a little tired of each season toward the end, so I’m happy to see the next one coming.
P.S. Glad you’re off the Verizon thing. Positive energy, FBC.

This is my first year living in DC so this is quite possibly my very first Spring. In Cleveland, where I’m from, I really don’t think there is any such thing as a Spring-straight Winter into Summer. But this is pretty nice, although my favorite season is Autumn. I just really love the colors outside, the not-too-hot/not-too-cold weather and I have a massive coat/jacket collection :-)

Lala: That’s right!! I totally understand *why* the seasons are opposite down there, but it still kind of fascinates me that we’re prepping for spring at the very same time that you’re prepping for fall.

Papigiulio: Yeah, I *love* spring & summer! And although I miss living in Europe, I don’t miss the weather.

Pegs: Yeah, the Verizon thing *really* pissed me off!!! You can’t even begin to imagine what that hell was like. Now, about the seasons … yeah, I don’t miss Chicago winters at all.

cici: My friend Mags lives in DC, too. I soooo need to take a trip down there to visit her.

When Spring starts, that’s my favorite season.
When Summer starts, that’s my favorite season.
When Fall starts, that’s my favorite season.

When Winter starts, I think *&&%%$%$$* I miss summer.

i live in LA now where there are no seasons, just the same daily weather/mood forecast that pretty much applies to the entire population – partly sunny, lightly cloudy burn-off around noon and sunny the rest of the day.

When I lived in NYC i loved the change from summer to fall the most – the turning of leaves, cooler temps, fly fall wardrobes (boots, Boots, BOOTS!), cooking/baking family favorites and gearing up the holidays.

The change from winter to spring is a close second, though – i love putting away all the cold-weather stuff, it’s like shedding old/heavy skin. :)

‘mazingamy: Yeah, winter is my *least* favorite season! :(

Susan: I always *loved* the weather in LA when I lived out there. I really miss “partly sunny, lightly cloudy burn-off around noon and sunny the rest of the day.”

Denmark is head over heels because spring has finally come to our cold and moist country. Yesterday, I spent an hour outside correcting English essays (I’m a high school teacher) with my brand new shades. What a feeling! All Copenhageners are going crazy, and you see people wearing everything from gloves and scarves to shorts and flipflops!

Spring here is 15 degrees (celcius) and cold nights – which makes it almost obligatory to change clother to-three times a day; what more can a girl want?

Oh, and the best thing: The length of the day! Now, we have sun(or at least light) from 6am till 8pm.

You said “Denmark is head over heels because spring has finally come”. But, I thought you guys were *ALWAYS* head over heels. :) BBC news and others reported that the Danes are the happiest people in the world. :)

hehehe I know it is Spring when my sinus’ go into overdrive LOL :) I know spring has sprung !! Oh and another sign: I have to start mowing the yard. Yep I still do it myself…though I am thinking of hiring someone to do it this summer if it is really really hot.

  12. FUNKY BROWN CHICK Says:

Oooooh, it must be nice to have a yard. I’ve been living in New York so long that I’ve forgotten what large patches of grass look like.

It's April 14th and it's raining in San Diego.

    Of all places!
