Sanjaya Malakar and Other Annoying Things

In the past, we’ve gathered around the FBC Virtual Water Cooler (um, that’s the comments section) to talk about circumcision, men who wear thongs, and all other kinds of testosterone-driven topics. Check out the Manly Mondays Vault for details. Okay, so, now that we’re all on the same page … It’s time for today’s Manly Monday pick.
I’ll start us off by saying this: I’m not really much of a television watcher. I kicked the box several years ago, and I returned to the habit of watching TV only recently. So, needless to say, I haven’t really been following the life and times of American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar. However, unfortunately, he’s almost completely unavoidable at this point. The hunger strike on MySpace? The faux hawk? The little Ferl who cried? You name it. Stories about this guy are everywhere!
It’s so easy to hate this guy because, you know, he’s annoying. But, on the other hand, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I find him to be slightly endearing. In TV-land, where everyone seems to be a carbon copy of someone else, it’s kind of refreshing to see someone whose a little bit different … even if he is kind of nutty. So, to keep things as light and fluffy as Sanjaya Malakar’s beautiful hair, feel free to use the comment section to rant or rave about him.
