AmyD: CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously, I soooo need to catch up on blogs. I'm having laptop issues. My hard drive crashed and I've been limping along without access to the outside world.

Nicole: Sounds like you've got a great relationship going.

Baba Doodlius: Nerds make great lovers!

Mitch: Really?? Vancouver has a similar break down? You should move to the US. The west coast is overflowing with men. And, as you noticed when I pimped you out on my blog, American women love you!

kbarrett: Oooooh! I like that: sampling. That's a great description.

Nics: I wanna know the details about the "possibility of fun on the horizon" stuff!

Amy: Stalked twice??? Not good. :-( And, can I just tell you that I *love* it that you're dating a 20-something. 20-somethings are *DELICIOUS*!!! :-)

Stefanie: I agree with you. Give me happily single over unhappily married any day. And, of course, given the choice between unhappily married or happily married ... I would choose: blissfully cohabiting! ;-)

Alicia: Oooooh, someone should create a documentary: "The Fabulous Lives of Single Women." :-) By the way, I love, love, *LOVE* my Canadian readers!!!

simplyd23: Sounds like life is going well for you, and I hope the universe delivers you a *great* partner of your choosing.

very single. and no prince charming even on the horizon. unless you count the men in my life i correspond with via phone and internet, all lovely men, mostly from college, with whom i've kept in touch all these 20 years... didn't date any of them then, but wish i could now. mostly an issue of geography. but content being on my own, with my wonderful son, and we'll see what the universe has in store for me...

Quite single, would like to be in a relationship but obviously wouldn't trade the sometimes fabulous, sometimes lonely moments of singlehood for just anyone.

I think the east coast, west coast thing in the U.S. is the same in Canada. The single men are all in the west (or so i'm told). I'm in Nova Scotia and it's slim pickings here...

Definitely single, definitely famine more than feast, and yet... "remarkably OK with it." I am with you on that phrase--WTF? I would rather be happily single than unhappily married. That's a no-brainer, I think.

I am single and so ok with it, it is scary. All my exes have been possessive and since my last significant long term monogamous relationship (4 years) ended 1 1/2 years ago, i've been stalked twice. Once with extra bonus death threat. Both guys were in my age bracket (late 30s).

All the nice, darling, delectable, sweet, motivated, ambitious guys I've met? Mid 20s.

Am currently spending a lot of time in an as yet undefined (and thus unconsumated) thing with a 25 year old.

I am 38. LOL

And I now remember the great "undefined" decade known as 20s. But that is so so so OK with me even I find it bizarre. Am determined just to enjoy his friendship and whatever happens happens.

I feel like a nun without all the religion. There is a possibility of fun on the horizon but I'm not chasing it, it can come to me, I'm not going anywhere!

I just got out of a long term relationship that was great, until it wasn't, and then ended about as badly as the relationship had been great to begin with. Needless to say, I'm not looking for a repeat of that situation.

So I wouldn't say I am dating so much as "sampling..." Is that a relationship category?

Hey FBC,

First, hope you're feeling better and the tests are positive!

Second, the same statistical breakdown has been made of Vancouver, with correspondingly similar results. Yet the nice guys, like me and a few friends of mine, don't get the dates! The status of the relationships reminds me of the Chris Rock video "Single and Lonely, Married and Bored" - funny stuff.

On the other hand, I've decided that I'm ok with being single, despite it all including the frustrations and bad luck, things could be a hell of a lot worse...

All the best!
