@ lola: Yeah. Still haven’t decided whether or not I’ll post the password-protected post.

@ Viviane: Didn’t say it was Le Trapeze. Didn’t say it wasn’t. This was my first time at a sex club, and I definitely wouldn’t say that I’m “in the know” about the clubs. So, if you say Chemistry is good, I’ll believe you. Jonathan and I haven’t ruled out the possibility of going to another club.

I understand your hesitancy in posting details about the sex club. I recently got castigated at a blogger meet-up for being a “swinger.” Wasnt fun. But that isnt going to stop me from doing what I want!

And, yeah, you’re 100% right about such clubs existing in Chicago … heeeey, wasn’t it the *Illinois* candidate for senator, Jack Ryan, who pulled out of the race because his campaign was plagued with stories about him taking his famous wife, Jerry Ryan, to sex clubs? Pervy little Illinoisans. ;)

Such places do exist in Chicago. I haven’t been to one. But I did talk to a woman who went along as a favor to a man who wanted to go. She told me she was so nervous that she spent the beginning of the night throwing up in the restroom!

I think I understand your dilemma. I find myself in a similar position and have ended up creating a separate protected blog open only to people I know. Some stories need to be told but there is also a need to control your audience. Sometimes things get wonky without context…I like knowing that certain stories are being heard by people who know me or just get the inherent joke/weirdness.

All that said, we’re voyeurs or we wouldn’t be here reading about your life :)

It’s so refreshing to read this post! I definitely think you are more comfortable writing about your feelings/experiences on FBC than on Nerve.

(P.S. you and I both know NY is only what you make of it — the sex clubs are only available to the pervs who consciously seek them out!)
