it is better for men to stay single ! :D im single and im happily living with my parents ,earning and keeping them happy and proud :D everybody calls me a sexist / loser and what not for being single , but actually its fun , there is peace :P all my married guys are always frustrated and depressed of their nagging and bullying wives :P they don’t have freedom , they have no money to spend on themselves , they cook at late night ,they go to office, they do all the household chores and still get blamed for everything lol :P Its not that I hate responsibilities , its just that there are no rational , fun and lovable females around :P most of them emphasis on “me” than “we” and are hardcore feminists . :P single men’s life may suck for horny and lonely guys :P but I tell you guys its worth it . Happiness is all you need and a woman is a risky investment :P and often fails . Parents + career + social work = perfect life :D

…single female life sucks more then single male, and when she is a single mother is even worse…. she could be smart, beautiful and have enough money not to worry about anything, but when it comes to dating someone that she likes……well, single life sucks, for both man and women, because is not what you can date, is about WHO to date!..

I suggest you scroll up to the realityguy posting. Those 185,000 or so single women are all in the geriatric category. I guess if you are old maybe it’s an issue but if you are young it’s meaningless. In the young reproductive age group there is actually a shortage of women.

Very Well said FunkyBrown! The reason I think single women have it harder is because many of them want to be in committed relationships. On the other hand, many single men are enjoying the benefits of being in demand numerically (Hence, the 185,000 more single women), and want to date as opposed to settling down.

You’re Jonathan is a misogynist like about 85% of men in the US. Hence his ridiculous comment. He is thinking, like most guys do, from a poor me, victim perspective. Classic woman hater. They deify women into objects of power. Woman haters like Jonathan don’t consider that women have preferences that go along with being an actual being. Preferences like the male physical appearance, his hygiene habits, topics of conversation, how clean he keeps or doesn’t keep his place, if he demonstrates the ability and will to be a good husband and father, how well he displays or conveys love, etc. No. To a woman hater, their only concern with the female sex is POWER. Not much else, if anything else. They disillusion themselves into believing that every interaction with a female is a POWER PLAY. Because men are limited thinkers, they readily choose to believe their own ideas that women think and are just like them (shallow selfish and power hungry.) But of course that’s not the case as most females would admit. They set women up like adversaries. And then do petty things to bring us down a few notches from the deity level that they’ve established for us. They withhold love and affection for fear of us feeling “more powerful.” Men (of all ages) are extremely jealous of women.

So now, WHO has a rougher time in the single life. Although I’d say that 99.9% of females do not even know what misogynist means and will explain away almost any hateful insult from a man as a random unpersonal act of anger (rather than one directed at her specifically because she has a vagina), they still have it pretty bad. Men have made themselves useless to women. They refuse us genuine respect and kind gestures. They want us to cower at the thought of having them just pay for dinner for fear of being called a gold digger. They don’t much go to the gym, many have desk jobs, and almost all are out of shape so you can pretty much forget them offering any sex appeal in the bedroom or help around the house. Style- they don’t have any. They go out of the house looking like their moms were off that day and therefore couldn’t lend a hand with dressing them. They are so caught up in the hating on females that when you go out on a date with one, they can’t manage an interesting conversation and have to be led.

I see beautiful women alot. It is true that like men, many women are out of shape. But I see way more ugly out of shape men than I do ugly out of shape women. And even the ugly women will employ a sense of style to herself out where a man wouldn’t. Out of 100 men randomly picked from my field of vision at any point in the day on any day, I’d say only about 5 would be appealing. Unfortunately, you can pretty much expect however, that all 5 would be woman haters.

You are correct. Women who pay for men is mostly a myth. It’s extremely easy for women to claim they pay when they are cloaked in anonymity on the internet. Then the burden of proof lies on the reader, which is why they’re able to get away with lying.

Here is why men are still paying for dates in 2011: Women know that whoever does the inviting is the one who pays. If they approached men, they would be expected to pay his way. They know this, and use it to their advantage.

You can pump feminist ideologies into the head of every girl in society, but when these girls grow-up, they will still expect many things from men that contradict feminism.

They claim feminism is about having the same choices as men. Well, J Coffey, do you feel as if you have the same choices as women? Can you date women on a regular basis who more money than you? Do women approach you as often as you approach women? Can you expect to have your meal paid for when you go on a date? Can you date women who have more education than you? Can you stay home with the kids, while the wife works to provide for you?

Feminism has messed everything up, for men. It has allowed women to demand equality from 9-5 and special treatment from 5-9.

Being 44 and a still single male worries me at times,I have raised 2 children from birth and they are grown and married now. I don’t drink nor do I smoke and I hate going to Bars. Do you realize how hard it is for a guy to find a woman who likes the same things? I have had women tell me not to ask them to choose between myself or thier children yet they expected me to choose them over mine,many women treat thier kids like gold as did I BUT they treated my children like dirt.
Most Women don’t want nice guys or at least the majority of them that are still single don’t.
In all my dating I have NEVER met a woman that pays for anything,a lot say they do but in reality they don’t,at least from my past experiences.

I think this is a cool thread, I love reading all of the comments. I find it very interesting. Something also to think about is the idea that women have an “expiration date.” A lot of single women begin to crave finding that special someone, getting married, and eventually having children. But, this idea can be a turn off once those women become too old to safely produce children. As someone said earlier, it’s reality that guys don’t want to date extremely old women, and since men tend to reach for women who are at least 5 years younger than they are, the older single women are sort of…SOL. Unless, of course, they prefer not to be married, and just want to date. I’m not saying that the ability to produce women is the only trait that men are looking for, but I just thought I’d throw this into the “men have it tougher than women” idea. It’s just a thought.

I agree with that too. It seems a lot of women–men too–are slipping in their morals. Although my question is, where are you meeting these women? As I once learned, “if you look in the garbage, all you’re gonna find is trash.” :)

I disagree with only the bottom portion of what you wrote. I think girls SHOULD give decent guys a real chance, but there’s a real indication of laziness if the guy is over 20, still living with his parents, unemployed, and not going to college. I know plenty of good guys who are just sitting at home, not sure where they are going to go in life. It’s not that MONEY is the #1 thing women are looking for, but it’s that if it’s marriage they want, they want to make sure that they are going to marry guys who can provide security, and aren’t lazy and unambitious. A real turn off for either sexes is a person who can’t self-identify, is clingy, and dependent. Imagine if it were the opposite. Would you like a girl who can’t provide for herself, when she has no reason to not be able to?
