Men in Uniform: Droolworthy or Not?
I’m on a date. At some point during the evening, the guy opens his mouth and the following words come tumbling out: “I was in the Navy for two years.” Oh my dear sweet lawd! I’m a very visual person. So, when I blink, I immediately envision the beautiful man sitting next to me as a U.S. Navy sailor decked out in dress whites and standing at attention. I looooove men in uniforms. One of my readers, Howard from The Web Pen Blog, was in the Navy and I think that’s the sexiest thing ever. Hmmm … What is it about a man in uniform? I mean, seriously, when you think about it it’s just another outfit, right? So here’s what I’m wondering … Does *everyone* get universally hot and wet at the thought of a man in uniform, or are there people out there who are immune to the appeal? Please feel free to use the comments section to share your thoughts. Comments from all are welcome. And, I’d be especially curious to hear from those who don’t find men in uniform particularly droolworthy at all.

I don’t have a thing for it as such but granted it can be attractive. Maybe because they’re generally very fit (army fitness levels are a tad higher than normal civilian levels!).

Men in uniform are sexy! Esp. because they want to be given orders and look to execute them to your satisfaction with the obligatory punctuating “Yes, Ma’am!”

absolutely! my dad was a captain in the navy (SEAL) and he looked amazing in his dress whites! i’ve spent a fair amount of time on base, and those boys are definitely hot!

FBC, I don’t know if you’ve seen the Navy sailors when the come during Fleet Week (?) or whatever they call it. They come to the club with pot bellies wanting to get lucky that night. smh
The only two uniforms I find sexy are police officer and doctor robes.

Hmmm, i love a navy boy. Yummy. I love a policeman too and a soldier for that. I think it’s the discipline, sweat, rippling muscles, intensity and the whole “I could throw you around the bedroom with my little finger” thing.

Looks very sexy. Me, I wouldn’t want to marry a man in uniform though. Forget that I’m already happily spoken for, but men in uniforms lead dangerous lives. I’m much too selfish of my men to want them in harms way.

Ditto MamaChristy. I admire the heck out of our servicemen (sorry, women) both for their service and their clean-cut good looks. But if I think about anything more than eye candy…well, it freaks me out to think the one I love might die in a far away place & I’d only know about it because some officers showed up at my door.

men in suit, in general, are hotter than the ones who dress normal. are men in uniforms…oh god…it must be something very primal… for me, navy and air force are the hottest of them all ;)

@ Darwin: Yes! Maybe it’s more about the body under the uniform than it is about the clothes that cover it.
@ Peggy b.: Mmmmm. The sound of a handsome man saying “Yes, Ma’am!” to me makes me want to purr. But, then again, I’m somewhat of a domme. ;)

@ denise: I hung out with some of the Marines when I lived in the Netherlands. Almost ALL of them were not. Nice little creatures to oogle, but I’m not sure if I could have ever dated any of them.

FBC, don’t tease me like that. I grew in a town with mostly sistas, and out here in Hawaii, it’s hard to find a halfway decent funky brown chick, let alone one as fine as you.
If you’ve got the sailor suit, I’ve got the dime. I’ll fly you out here and make you mine.

1) It suggests discipline. I’m not even into that, but power is sexy in whatever way, let’s face it.
2) Maybe for women it allows us to see men in a more blanket way? I say I don’t ogle men the way men ogle women by parts, but that does change when a man in uniform is around.
3) C’mon, it shows off their buns.
I don’t necessarily drool for the man-in-uniform but admit to being a sucker for a kilt.

OMG- men in uniform are absolutely the sexiest things alive. And in NYC, our cops and firemen beat out all the other uniformed cuties in the world.

@ The Jaded NYer: I soooo know what you mean about NYC’s men in uniform being a bit hotter than men elsewhere. I’ve got pics of myself with men in various NYC uniforms (firemen, police, etc.). They’re cute.
@ grampa: I’ve been in Hawaii once. It was one of the best vacations that I’ve ever had. A friend still lives in Kihea, Maui.

love a military man – in or out of uniform. it’s something about the aura of power and control. those nicely shined shoes. the attention to detail. the never ending respect, yet total willingness to kick ass.
my father was in the military, so this is vaguely distrubing in a freudian way… lol

He is the most responsible person I know and so caring willing to do anything if asked he is my man in shining armour and sexy to boot in uniform or out.
