What’s Your Favorite Christmas Song?

Ahhhh, one of my favorite scenes from the movie “Love Actually.” It’s kind of hard to believe that Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the rest of the winter holidays are coming up right around the corner. It’s a toss up between “Santa Baby”, “All I Want for Christmas” and “Happy Xmas, War Is Over”, but I think “All I Want for Christmas” just might edge out the competition for my favorite Christmas song. What’s yours?

I love this song (and the movie)! I can never remember the words though, just bits and pieces, so it’s always kind of garbled when I sing it in my head. I’d have to say my favorite Christmas song is The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting…).

O Holy Night
I admire anyone who can sing it well; it’s a very difficult one to sing. Always reminds me of my dad, too. I think it’s his favorite.

I began playing that video and the cat bolted into the room, made sure there weren’t little people under the computer singing, and sat down to purr. Obviously that’s her favorite Christmas song as well.

Mine is a toss-up between…. well each one I think of is great… It came upon a midnight clear, O little town of Bethlehem, Angels we have heard on high, O come O Come Emanuel… O come all ye faithful…. Silent Night.

I give up. I just like Christmas songs, they remind me of going to church and actually enjoying it, being with my entire family, and other lovely things. I think I just romanticized my childhood a ton.

At least the cat is decisive.

I have some mainstream favorites, but they are all blown away by The Wet Spots ‘Fist Me This Christmas’! (http://www.goodiebag.tv/video/fist_me_this_christmas.htm)

“Please come home for Christmas” by the Eagles. Always has been – now that I’m an expat – even more so….

“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

I like happy Christmas songs.

Although, I did find myself humming along to “The Hallelujah Chorus” yesterday at the grocery store.

“War is Over” makes me wistful, as it does double duty in December in commemorating Lennon’s assassination.

And yet I play Phil Spector’s Christmas album without a care in the world.

Le sigh. I just realized I don’t have a favorite Christmas song. How sad is that? I’m pretty sure when I was younger and didnt hate Christmas (Not like Jesus or anything, just the holiday) I had one…but now I’m pretty much bah humbugging it.

My favourite Christmas song for this year would be the one I wrote just a few days ago  :)  I think it’s kinda cute and funny, and here it is:
