As most of you undoubtedly know by now, once a week, we pay tribute to men here on FUNKYBROWNCHICK — where the “M” in Monday stands for M-A-N. We switched things up a bit last week. Holding off on the testosterone for a day, we had Testicle Tuesday (instead of Manly Monday) honoring A.J. Jacobs. Hmmm … I’m debating whether I’ll stick with Manly Monday or switch to Testicle Tuesdays. This week, I’ll go with Tuesday. In the meantime, be sure to check out my blog column at Nerve today:
The photo shoot ended days ago, and I’m fully clothed now. In the couple days since my last Nerve post, I finished a chapter for an anthology about sex, submitted pitches, contacted an ex from six years ago ( … staying at his place when I go to Miami next month …), sat at church, went on a date with a person who seems like an amazingly warm human being and attended a delightfully sexy Sunday afternoon tea where I finally met Zoe Margolis. I also spent what seems like 100 of hours procrastinating. Full time day job, full on freelance writing career and other engagements combine to make life a bit overwhelming. When I need a break, I fuck around on Facebook while sitting at home in my underwear. I poke people, join a group for black women with natural hair and update my status to let people know I “own a T-shirt that says: ‘Snog. Verb. To kiss is a non-platonic way; to make out.” Do these actions improve my life in any way? Dunno. I ask myself, “Am I better off now than I was 8 hours ago?” Probably not. I like the idea of mixing it up and changing it to Testicle Tuesdays. I am also in British mode, after watching a special on the royal family so I would vote for Harry and Wills :)
