Spread it!
It’s almost 10:30pm here in the city, and I feel soooo relaxed. For the first time in waaaay too long, I went straight to the apartment after work, and I didn’t write when I got home. I responded to outstanding emails, set up my schedule and calendar for the coming month & did other stuff to organize my life. Yes, it was super low key. No, it’s wasn’t anything super FUN or SEXY in capital letters. But, I really think I needed to take some time to myself to get stuff in order. And, you know what? I’m actually going to bed before midnight tonight. Sometimes the best “dates” are the ones you make with yourself.

So many people underestimate the importance of stepping out of the daily grind and touching base with yourself.
They just fly through the manic pace of life and eventually burn up and crash, much too early.

Soooo true! Good for you for taking some time for yourself! I do the same thing: even though I live with my man, I still take nights where I go in the other room and do NOTHING. No talking, no working, just…being. It’s good for the soul, I think. You should try to do that once a week!

@ AmyD: Great suggestion!! I honestly thought about doing that. I think I’m going to make Tuesdays my “me time” nights.
# lamesabassman: I lived in Los Angeles for a short while. Actually, I’ve moved around a bunch. The “dudes” stuck with me from California, “y’alls” from MS, “wanna come with?” from Illinois and “rights” are from New York. In the end, no one can guess where I’m from based on my speech because it’s kind of a mix of everything.
and I love gumbo….. so dont lose that flavor…..
