I’m always amazed (and flattered!) that people take time out of their day to get down with the funky brown by visiting my site. Who are you? Where are you? And, by “you” I mean, seriously, *YOU* — the pair of anonymously sexy eyes reading these words right now. I know you’re here. My site traffic statistics tell me when you came, what you looked at and how long you stayed. But, you don’t want to share yourself with me. :( The vast majority of you (”yous” … hey, it’s New York) drop by, but you don’t say hi. So, why don’t we turn this Reader Appreciate Day into a “welcome mat” today? Come out and play with the rest of the readers. You don’t have to say anything especially clever, witty or funny. Just say hi, and tell me where in the world you are right now. I’m curious. So, here, I’ll even kick things off for us: “Hey there! It’s a sunny 56°F right now, and I’m in Manhattan.” Now, you …

Hey, shawty. Live and direct from Mississippi! Heard you used to live here…whereabout?
Hey. I am in Joliet, Il, which is a suburb of Chicago, but you probably already knew that as you are from here. I stumbled upon your blog accidentally a few months ago, I love it! It is sunny and 77 degrees here and I am on the computer hiding from my husband. I am supposed to be helping him in the garden, but dammit it’s too hot. He’s mad too, oh well.
The Slums of Jersey City, NJ
Hi! I’m Cherie from Columbus, Ohio. I found your blog from Twitter and love it. Keep up the good work :)
@ Nina: Thanks for stopping by the blog! :) And, WLTV is GREAT isn’t it?? :)
@ lamesabassman: :)
@ Chip: I lived in the North(ish) eastern part of the state. Much prefer Illinois; Midwesterner through and through. :)
@ andrea: Keep hiding, woman! :) I remember how hot the heat got in Illinois. Not fun at all.
@ LaLaFuFu dotcom: So, you’re close to NYC – another slum. ;) Did anyone see that play Urinetown? I actually really liked it. :)
@ Cherie: Greetings, my fellow Midwesterner! :) THANKS for the support!! :)
@funkybrownchick yup, new york city is close enough to spit on from my apartment.
Hey! I was born and raised in New Orleans :) Living in saint louis right now. Found your site via Twitter and Roddykat.
@ LaLaFuFu dotcom: :)
@ Patrice: “New Orleans” and “St. Louis.” You’ve got a thing for towns with French names? ;) THANKS for checking out the blog! Checked out yours, too. The pics of you and Peaches at SATC are too cute!!
i’m a bit late on replying, but hello! i’m ana and i’m reading you from shanghai, china (although i am actually from portugal) :)
Hey girl hey =] ahahah
I am in a VERY small town (possibly a village) in Ohio, called Shadyside. I just happened across your blog when I was Google-ing thru different blogs, and I must day – I am SOOO addicted.
@ ana: Wow, China? Really. That’s cool. I have a friend teaching English there; it’s been difficult, but she really likes it.
@ Tiffani: Three cheers for the midwest (again)!!! I grew up in a tiny Midwesterner village and one of my ex-boyfriends is from Ohio. I could insert snarky comment here about the ex, but I’m gonna refrain.
Located in the beautiful South Florida!!!
Oooooooh, South Flawda *is* beautiful. I lived in FL for a while. Interesting place.

Hi! I’m Lisa, a southern belle on the gulf of mexico in Mississippi..you’re funny as hell…and it’s hotter than the day Sherman burned Atlanta here….I love words!
Born in Singapore (yes, that place where they paddle folks for chewing gum), but I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I currently live in Alabama, but I will always be a California boy at heart. Up in the morning, almost 100 degrees already, skipping school for a beer at the beach and to watch the surf come in, cell phone ringing off the hook while I drive down the 280, hooking up with friends for happy hour on the Peninsula, tacos and/or sushi after bar hopping, and there’s still something jumping off all night long. West Coast, represent. How I miss you.
@ Lisa: Aren’t words fun?? :) I like playing with them, too.
@ Andy: 100 degrees???? Wow! I soooo don’t miss my days in the down south when it gets hot like THAT.
