How to Shave: Slick Summer Bodies

Before my warm shower this morning, I hadn’t removed hair from my armpits, legs and random private bits in almost a week. I felt furry. Typically, I like to keep that sh!t in order, but I’d been slipping a bit because, quite frankly, I’m not having sex on a regular basis. “No one’s going to rub up against my legs,” I figure, “so I doesn’t matter if they aren’t smooth 100% of the time.”

My current low-action sex & dating life be damned, I decided to give my legs the royal treatment. As usual, I woke up at 6:30am today, took off my clothes and barefooted my nude body to the shower. Opening the glass door, I stepped in, turned on the water and got ready to shave. I’ve been loving on the Schick Quattro for Women ever since I received a free one from a lovely woman who knows how much I love running my fingers across my legs when they’re smooth. So, I was like 100% ready to remove all the tiny hairs from my legs; but, unfortunately, I was completely out of cream.  :(  I’ll pick some up on the way home tonight & I’ll get smooth-leg action on again during my next shower. The new Schick is a great razor, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking nick-free legs. In the meantime, just in case I’ve got any female readers out there who want the inside scoop to achieving slick, sexy, summer-ready legs, here’s a step-by-step video.

Mrs. Doodlius uses some razor that has this built-in soap thingy on it so you never run out of shaving cream. Plus it makes shaving a one-step process instead of two, so it saves at least 30 seconds of your day. If ninjas shave their legs, this is definitely the gizmo they would use to do it. I only wish I had thought of it (and patented it) first.

that’s a huge different between our cultures. it’s inthinkable for be to SHAVE my legs. wax or depilatory machine are my only options. shaving makes the air grow stronger :/ i’m afraid to even imagine my legs like that lol. since i was 15 i used to wax. recently i’ve discover the wonder of the machine. no need to wait those 3/4 weeks to wax again ;) the hair grows thinner and i’ve got my legs ALWAYS smooth, even after a few weeks of waxing/machine depilation. :D

hair is hellacool…… am don’t care if you do shave or don’t….. for at times, bare is
beautiful….. but , showin’ a little fur is oh sooooo fine… it’s good to go back to the basics… but I guess it all depends on if you are in the mood for something
wonderfully rude…..

lamesabassman……. did you ever go to the dentist for a haircut … hmmmm..

I haven’t shaved since I discovered Veet depilatory creme. Have you ever tried this? Girl, it get it ALL off. EVERYTHING! It smells great and leaves your skin smooth as a newborn. And your legs, armpits and lady business stay smoother longer ;)

I’m with lamesabassman , hair is cool. Once again showing my age, when we were all younger, a bit of fur under the arm, on the legs was very sexy.
But showing my lack of sexual activity lately, I have to confess I liked watching that video..

Quattro likes to trick me into thinking I’ve had a good shave until it all grows in so thoroughly mown my neck abounds with itch and ingrown. Blasted Celtic scraggle.

My dame, by contrast, can go a month without a shear and feel smooth as a baby.

@ Baba Doodlius: I used to use those, too! I should probably replace my razors more often than I do, but I stop using those because the green soap thing would expire / run out before my razor did.

@ Carolina Pereira: Wax? OUCH!! ;) Some women in the US wax too, but I think shaving is probably most common. Hmmm … U learn something new everyday. In Portugal, women don’t shave their legs, they wax.

@ lamesabassman: Some like shaved legs, some don’t.

@ Black Velveteen: I don’t think I’ve tried Veet, but I have tried Nair. That’s great Veet smeels good because Nair’s smell almost killed me. :) Plus, I can be a hippy when it come to chemicals on my body. I got kind of freaked out like, “Should I be putting this stuff on my legs if makes the hairs on my skin melt off?” But, then again, I can’t pronounce half of the chemicals in my shaving cream either. Man, I swear all this sh!t is giving us cancer.

@ don: It’s a nice video, isn’t it?! :) And, maybe it is a generation thing. When I was a little girl, most of the older black women I knew didn’t shave their legs.

@ Brenz: Your dame is a very lucky woman. ;)

whatever about sex, i usually shave my legs if i’m going anywhere, because i think, suppose i were in an accident, or suppose i twisted my ankle and ended up in the ER, would i want a doctor [male or female] to see my leg all stubbly?

no. i would not.

so i try not to go out w/out shaved legs.

that’s like my grandmother’s reasoning for having a very nice robe ready to put on, in the middle of the night, in case of fire…she kept a ‘fire robe’ always at the ready but wore a less nice one around the house!

Since I moved to Europe, I’m a waxing nut. I still shave my legs, but they’re almost hairless. I have my “nether regions” waxed though. I used to shave “there” but the waxing has opened up a whole new world to me.:-)

I am not one to give a frak what anyone thinks, if a lady doesn’t shave… big deal, its her body she can do with it as she will. hair is just hair, if sasquatch had a great personality and she wanted to have babies… well I think I would pass cause thats a little off the wall.
sometimes it can be beneficial to experience life from a prehistoric perspective, let oneself go and become neanderthal; Tyrant of the concrete jungle, smite those who do not obey or beat a potential mate into submission with savage ferocity.
all in all I will not shave my beard for anyone, I like it the way it is, likewise I expect a woman to do as she pleases.

@ mimi of sexagenarian and the city: Very good points, my dear! Moral of the story? “Don’t get caught off guard.” I recently (i.e. sometime in the past 6 months) debated whether I should shave my legs before going out. I did. At a party that night, a young science writer ran his fingertips and lips across my skirt-clad thighs. “Wow, your legs are so smooth.” The whole time I kept thinking, “Good thing you didn’t catch me yesterday.”

@ Rashunda: HELL NO!!! My nether regions are too sensitive to receive the brutal hair-ripping hot waxed strip torture technique. Shave and trim, baby. I’m ALL about the shave and trim.

@ qp: I’ve made every man I’ve ever dated shave his facial hair. I’m soooo not a fan. Stubble? Yes. Full facial hair? Nun-uh.
