I Love: Before Sunset (The Movie Trailer)

Let me sing you a waltz
Out of nowhere, out of my thoughts
Let me sing you a waltz
About this one night stand
You were, for me, that night
Everything I always dreamt of in life
But now you’re gone
You are far gone
All the way to your island of rain
It was for you just a one night thing
But you were much more to me, just so you know
I don’t care what they say
I know what you meant for me that day
I just want another try
I just want another night
Even if it doesn’t seem quite right
You meant for me much more than anyone I’ve met before
One single night with you, little Jesse, is worth a thousand with anybody
I have no bitterness, my sweet
I’ll never forget this one night thing
Even tomorrow in other arms, my heart will stay yours until I die
Let me sing you a waltz
Out of nowhere, out of my blues
Let me sing you a waltz
About this lovely one night stand

Oh, i love that movie! the innocence of their conversation, the familiarity of two people who have not spoken in years was so damn sexy!

It wasn’t just a chick flick either. I love that movie too. And the first one, Before Sunrise. Wonderful intelligent movies.

i love both of their movies together. it’s like, when the first one came out during undergrad, it spoke directly to my mood at the time. all that optimisim and shite. and then when this one came out ten years later – again. right on the mark.

and this scene! i’d forgotten – giving up on romantic love; being numb and unable to even bother getting it up (emotionally) for others. sooooo true my sista. so true.

# courtney: Isn’t it great?! :) And, you’re soooo right about “the familiarity of two people who have not spoken in years was so damn sexy!”

# don: YAY!!! I love it when guys like the say movies that I do. By the way, if you’re looking for another non chick flick, check out French Kiss. If you can stomach Meg Ryan, it’s totally worth it.

# Hippiechyck: Yeah, I swear both of those movies totally spoke to my soul. Oooooh, for another 20-something love vs 30-something love back-to-back movie duo thing, check out “L’auberge espagnole” (20s) and the 10-year follow up flick “Russian dolls.” Both movies were totally under the radar but TOTALLY amazing!!! I actually went to a live transatlantic Q&A with Romain Duris and the films’ director. Great stuff. Met a boy there, too. If you’ve read this blog for a while, he was the French guy from summer 2006 who didn’t want to date me because he thought I made more money than he did. :(

I liked French Kiss to be honest. Kevin Kline was the main reason but Meg Ryan was still pretty good. She has kind of exhausted all the good will from When Harry Met Sally by now but she was awfully good for a while. Still not sure if it is her or the awful choices in movies she has made..
L’auberge espagnole and Russian Dolls has just gone on my to see list.

Oooh, one of my favorite movies. I’m silly like that… The sweet agony of anticipation. The selective memories of relationships past. Mis-communication, (non)action, cause & effect.

How about “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” (’88) — (It’s been a while, but it left me thinking back then… book better than movie) or “Sex and Lucia” (’01) (– God how I love Paz Vega)

I love this movie too!!!

By the way, I saw Sex and Lucia on a date. :) I can’t remember if we had sex after it.
