Time Out New York: The Sex Issue

October 1st, 2008 Posted in Happiness, NYC raves, New York

I’m in the current issue of one of the city’s top magazines: Time Out New York. They asked me and some other people how we thought New York’s dating scene compared to other cities. To see what I said, buy a copy of the magazine. It hits newsstands today. Out-of-towners can read what I said via this link here. The week’s theme is “The Sex Issue.”

One tiny little problem
“From jiggly bellies to one-inch weens, we asked everyday New Yorkers how they learned to overcome their greatest sexual insecurities.”

A routine checkup
“How do you keep sex interesting, armed only with skin and boners? Two BDSM enthusiasts—Morpheus and Kelly Walch—offer amateur advice.”

Nail file
“We ogled some figures, crunched some numbers and found out how the deed truly goes down in NYC.”

What’s the frequency?
“For some people once is too often, for others too much is not enough. Whatever your preference, you’re not alone. Readers tell us when they’re having sex and why. Or why not.”

How to Make a sex tape
“With the advent of YouPorn and other amateur skin-flick outlets, the fundamentals of sex on camera are more important than ever. Digital Playground’s contract superstar, the lovely Stoya, agreed to share some insight into this not-so-gentle art. To see how the pros do it, go to digitalplayground.com—just not at work.”

Threesomes
“You asked for it.”

I love New York. As I mentioned on Twitter earlier today, sadly, I have to leave my city for nearly a week. I’m going to DC for several days to see my friend Mags and to attend a concert. Although I’ve never lived there (only visited), I don’t like DC. It always reminds me of The Hague — very stately, orderly and (presumably) not a good match for me. I prefer New York.

Have fun in the DC. If you see John McCain, give him a good swift kick in the nuts for me.

Hey! DC may not be my favorite city, but I never thought of it as stately and orderly! I live in Maryland and I will admit that I don’t go to DC that often. But that’s because I’m directionaly challenged and usually end up lost for 2 hours! (one day i’ll get one of those direction telling thingies!)

Perhaps you’ll be surprised and enjoy yourself.

    Hey Twanna,

Shoot me an email when you are here (DC, of course). We can show you the other face of DC — the unstately, the unorderly, and the fun (no I am not talking about Capitol Hill or the Oval Orifice, I mean Office). We have real people that can have real fun. And a real dating scene, to boot!

it may be DC to you…. but it will always be Wonderland to me…. because it’s a wonder that anything gets done…..

lamesabassman……. have fun… but, dont follow leaders and watch your parking meters…..

I feel the same way about DC and I was raised in the DC suburbs. Have fun though. Bring back the funny.

Duuuuude! No way! DC is awesome! Gobs of terrific food like dim sum in Chinatown and it’s the Ethiopian restaurant capital of the non-Ethiopia world! Plus all the monuments pay testament to those too-rare groups and individuals that didn’t have time for the usual political bullshit. Visit the Jefferson memorial at sunset and the FDR memorial at night. Fantastic stuff!

It helps to go when the LoC is holding a good exhibit. Cripes, it’s coming on two years since I was last there.

Boston, though, that’s still my favorite to visit.

that’s DC when you are in motion……. slow your roll for a parsec…. and it will take a quite a while before you realized that the monuments are the rice trails
that lead to pasts not mended…. or ” when past fact becomes fiction, print the
fiction ….” it still is wonderful to look at the sights….. but if you could take a
look from the other side of the nickel…. you just might be amazed … and
shocked…. cause DC is just DC….. no chaser……

    lamesabassman……. DC…. CC… still hellacool…..
