Don’t Get Caught In Your Birthday Suit on YouTube

Last weekend, one of my lovely Twitter followers (I follower him, too), TabooLaRossi, asked me if I’d ever done a do’s and don’ts post for couples who take nude photos. Hmm … I don’t think there’s anything vulgar or unnatural about naked bodies. So, here are my “tips” for couples who wanna take nude photos of themselves:

Do decide how “naked” you want to be online. For personal reasons, I’ve never posted revealing (i.e. boobs and crotch shots) pics on my Flickr or a sex tape on my YouTube … though I have posted pics of myself in my bra and panties. My rule? I don’t show more Twannaflesh online than you’d glimpse if you saw me wearing a swimsuit on the beach.

Trust, like relationships, often changes. The lover holding the camera today might be your ex tomorrow. So, if you don’t want anyone / everyone to see your nude pictures, don’t make them available to others. Don’t give copies to your lover or friends. Don’t post them online — e.g. Flickr, blog posts, email forwarding, etc. (Note: Another option? Don’t show your face.)

If you decide to go full monty, do wear makeup and shave if you’re into that kind of stuff. Primp, smile and practice your facial expressions in the mirror before your photo shoot. Remember, pictures last forever; so, go at it full hog. Relax, have fun and enjoy!

I know a couple bloggers in town who’ve uploaded naked photos of themselves. I’m proud of my body and nudity isn’t a bad thing; at the same time, I think the only way I’d ever post nude pics online is if everything was like totally covered up because I’d feel odd about past or current employers and my family finding the pics. Since I don’t have personal experience to share on the public nudity front, I’d love to hear from someone who does. If you or someone you know has a great personal story about naked pics, a sex tape or other other fleshy stuff, tell us about it in the comments section.

Aww neat, a shout out! *blush* You are definitely right about lovers becoming exes overnight. As far as I know, there aren’t any of Rossi’s naughty bits floating around the net, but I guess if it was meant to be it will be. Plus, i’m working out my inhibitions, so I might very well put myself out there one day. ;)

By the way, I like what little of Twannaflesh i’ve seen. Quite sexy, you are. :)

I would also be really careful if uploading naked pics on Flickr; it’s not fun when you’re entire account gets marked as unsafe and everyone has to be logged in to view your pics (unless that’s how you want it). So if you’re showing nipple/crotch on Flickr, make sure you mark your photos as such. That issue was the death of my first Flickr account; now I have 2 PG ones (rachelkramerbussel and rkbcupcakes).

I dated briefly this woman a few years ago… after the first date, I was interested in her so I googled her… first link that showed up was a playboy link… curious, I went there, and sure enough, I find out that she had one picture displayed in playboy years ago…

Well, now we are good friends, and we openly talked about it – what she told me was fascinating. She is very proud of her body, and does not see playboy as demeaning in any way… It was very tastefully and artfully done… and she has a very good, high profile job dealing with company executives… surely, her posing has not hurt her future ambitions. In fact, she claims that posing nude made her more confident about herself and her body – she has received numerous positive comments (and very few negative ones), and it has definitely helped her self-image.

My mind has been shaped by that friend’s experience. I believe that if it’s tastefully done, it will not be viewed as a negative thing. I say – full porn can’t ever be tastefully or artfully done, but a woman’s body is a piece of art, and if you display it that way, I don’t think it should (or will) offend most of your readers (with some exceptions of course, there always are).

it is what the eye of the beholder views that will determine what is art…. and
what is not….. did you know that if you are looking for a job in America today
what your employer can access any and all info from FaceBook and all the new
and trendy spots that we all say ” look at me”….. and if they see anything that they dont like….. and you wont know that they did access this info… ’cause
they wont tell you…. and you will not get the gig….. please … think before
you send anything that you will not want to see or hear at the very wrong time…

lamesabassman….. ” Think….. it aint illegal … yet…. “

pointers?

LIGHTING LIGHTING LIGHTING!!!

pictures that are out of focus or poor lighting are just boring.

Make sure that you’re both in a comfortable position and the camera angles good. A tripod is an excellent way to improve your shots…….

I know way to much about this don’t I…..=\

I have pictures online. In most of them I am wearing little or no clothing. It’s no big deal. ‘Course my feathers cover up all the naughty bits.

Odd, I *wish* I’d taken nude pictures of myself (any my exes) 20 years ago… (rest assured, all would still be 18+, no kiddie-p) Think these young’uns are onto something…

i did a nude photo shoot a few months ago for my friend’s final art project. he just finished a master’s in fine art photography. it was me and 3 other rally hot people–one other girl and two guys. i knew it was for art, so i didn’t worry about being misrepresented or looking skanky in anyway. so my friend ended up scoring a 9 out of 10 on his project, and his professors entered it in a barcelona photography competition. i’m thinking, ‘fuck. i hope none of my students or employers happen to be connected to this competition in someway and end up seeing my ass’. somehow on the night of the ceremony, as they called the nominees for the award, the only pic that showed up on the screen was of me, wrapped in a white gauzy see-thru curtain holding a single black rose, like the bride of death. crazy. we lost. but everyone loved the pic. no, you can’t see it.

@ TabooLaRossi: If you put yourself out there, post a link!!

@ lamesabassman: :)

@ Rachel Kramer Bussel: VERY good point!!

@ Mr. Poopy Pants: You dated a Playboy girl? Why am I soooo not surprised?? ;) I agree that bodies are pieces of art. Seriously, I was putting brownish/charcoal eyeliner on this morning & I was holding my left hand really steady while dragging the light brush along the inside of my eyelashes. It was kind of like drawing. By the way, you said: “I believe that if [nude photos are] tastefully done, it will not be viewed as a negative thing.” Sooooo, when are you gonna pose naked?

@ lamesabassman: Very true about images on Facebook, etc. Anyone can access them.

@ dkzone: Sounds like you’ve got some experience!!! :)

@ Baba Doodlius: :)

@ ErrorBoy: I do, too. ;)

@ ieishah: That’s AWESOME that his project is entering a competition!! Sounds like it was must’ve been pretty good. SHOW US THE PICTURE.

@ ErrorBoy: I’ll check it out at home later tonight.
