I just wanna know what kinda parents this kid has where they thought this was cute….

Kids say the darnest things. Cute kid!

I love the part about not falling in love cause she may dump you by the end of recess. LOL

DJ Diva: I’m not sure you have the feel for what his book is about…

Its based on his world as an 8 year old. Girls are mysteries to boys at this age. No parent would allow their 8 year old to actually date but in 3rd grade its more of a sense of belonging than having a girlfriend in the adult way. I think its healthy for 3rd graders in general to communicate across gender lines and feel comfortable enough to be friends. Recess in 3rd grade should be about playing as a team or group rather than the boys vs the girls. Its important as a parent to set boundaries for kids of any age and as a parent you have to be confident that you have done so. I’ve seen some VERY “grown” acting kids and have wondered about what kind of parents they must have. BUT I don’t consider this young boy to be one of them. He’s innocently curious about how girls think. You notice the reason he gave of not falling in love was related to recess in school.

Don’t take it so serious and literal.

Wonderful – a kid who’s had more experience with chicks by age 9 than I’ve had in my whole life (which is significantly more than 9 years). I don’t even wanna think about it. Where’s my tequila?!?

I think there is something wrong with video. I can’t play it. Maybe I’ll come back some other time.

@ DJ Diva: I thought it was cute. And, I’m sure his parents probably thought the money he’d make off the book was cute. :)

@ Baba Doodlius: Yeah, I thought the kid was smart. He understands more about “girls” than a couple of 40-something dudes I’ve dated.

@ od: Take it up with MSNBC. I just embedded the video; any technical stuff is on their end.

Now if we could just get more adults to pay attention to his observations and suggestions, perhaps we’d all be better off.
