Sex, Interracial Couples and Videotape
If our current president’s parents hadn’t (ahem) “come together”, Barack Obama wouldn’t exist. The other day, I promised you “black people, white people, Frenchmen, Asians and sex.” Hear, ye! Hear, ye! I present you with film’s hottest interracial couples. Please note: As far as I know, I’ve linked stuff legally uploaded to YouTube — though, if any of the videos don’t appear below, chances are they’ve been yanked. If you’re interested in learning more about the flicks below (i.e. mini summaries, film reviews, related movies, etc. etc.), check out my latest piece for Huffington Post – Top 10: Movies with Steamy Interracial Couples.

all very good examples ….. but …. for me …. the very best is the 007 one…..
anything with Hallie Berry in it…… well, you could take my very last cupcake
and I would shed a tear……
lamesabassman….. just one look from Ms. Berry.. and am a chocolate puddle…..
January 30th, 2009 at 2:36 am
wait, how is Russian Dolls interracial?
And fakin the Funk? Loves it! Totally forgot about that Margaret Cho classic. I heart the Cho….
January 30th, 2009 at 2:57 am
What about the movie with Denzel and the Indian woman? I think it’s been over a decade since I last saw it, but from what I can remember it was pretty steamy (but that might just be me remembering from an adolescent perspective).

what?! no monsters ball?
admittedly billy bob is kinda a turn off ( anybody who admits to having “barnyard fun” )
by 007 did you mean Roger Moore and Grace jones?
How about the ever popular ” Mandingo”
I highly recomend renting this flick for the sheer comedic value
January 30th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
I believe the name of the flick is ” Die Another Day ” with Bronsan and Berry…
the only Bond movie that Mr.Moore was EVER good in was ” Live and Let Die ”
with a film score by Wings….. killer flick and was true to the book….
and Mississippi Masala was the Denzel piece….. and that was true to form.. you be amazed just how that movie was and to real life…. Monster’s Ball…. not only
that I cannot believe that Hallie won an Oscar for that role when she did so much other good stuff, but have reason to believe that the movie caused the break-up
between Billy Bob and Ms. Jolie…. with both actors deep in the Method mode…
that was one VERY REAL scene that you REALLY could not fake….. rehearsals do
make or break a scene…. and sometimes….. a relationship…. and Jungle Fever
just tore the roof off tha’ sucker and opened a real can of worms about how people really feel about one another…. but the Money Train…. well.. the love scene in that was as moving as Banderas and Halek in Desprado…. steam heat
done very well to a turn….. very moving….. would love to see the ” out-takes”
on those on DVD…..
but Eraser with Ahnold and Vanessa…. well they never did get that close….
but … the looks that they gave each other could very well be the cause for Global Warming…..
lamesabassman……. am in the Movies as much as in the studio…

Excuse me, but I have to be alone with this blog post for 2 minutes.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
I love seeing interracial affairs/relationships in films. Wristcutters is another one–really cute independent film.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
I like interracial couples as well. Haven is also a good movie. Zoe Saldana & Orlando Bloom + the Cayman Islands = Hot forbidden caribbean swirl.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
Hey, how about Serenity (and the whole Firefly run)? Zoe Washburn KICKS ASS!! Not so much hot, admittedly (except for every breath she takes) but a great portrayal of a solid interracial couple.
So glad you included MI:2 in there. That is one of my favorite movies ever. Thandie is also in “Run Fatboy Run” which is also a great interracial couple movie (though it’s a comedy).
January 30th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
great mention on Serenity…… one of the top ten all-time fight scenes … ever..
lamesabassman… gotta look at something beside Porn.. that can get kinda old…
January 31st, 2009 at 3:11 am
sort of related to this post, but with the super bowl two days away I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned pittsburgh wide receiver hines ward. not just because he’s one of my favorite players but appropriate to this theme, he’s half black/half korean.
January 31st, 2009 at 12:35 pm
@ lamesabassman: Yeah, I think EVERYONE remember the orange bikini beach scene. :)
@ Amiyrah: Details about Russian Dolls: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/twanna-a-hines/top-10-movies-with-steamy_b_162432.html :) And, yes, The Cho is awesome!!
@ Vee: Name isn’t coming to me … :(
@ ReGift.Me: Thanks for the link love!
@ Ohdoctah: Jungle Fever got an honorable mention!! Seeee? :) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/twanna-a-hines/top-10-movies-with-steamy_b_162432.html
@ dkzone: Oh, if the list was longer, “Monster’s Ball” and “Angel Heart” and “Mandingo” and tons of others could’ve been on it. I was restricted to 10. About 007, there are at least three — Roger Moore and Grace Jones as well as Pierce and Halle and Michelle.
@ Baba Doodlius: So, how was it? :)
@ Ursula: Wristcutters. Haven’t seen that one … and I’ve seen A LOT of movies in general. I’ll check it out.
@ Introverted_Skeptic: There’s something odd about Orlando Bloom. I feel like I “should” think he’s attractive, but I oddly don’t.
@ Graydancer: Just saw Run Fatboy Run a couple months back. So many films, so little time. :)
@ dan-E: I think I’ve mentioned him on a few of the Blasian posts. In general, I’m soooo not a (American) football fan. Go soccer! :)

@funkybrownchick:The same goes for me. I can’t explain it either.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Not to rain on any parade’s , and given that the author of this post is a black woman (ahem, brown chick) who prefer’s nonblack men. It would have been nice to include a movie with a black man with a non black woman. Oops, that isn’t easy to find in Hollywood is it? Hmmm, makes a person think and question. Black men have been sidelined by media. Just my humble opinion, well not necessarily opinion.
February 1st, 2009 at 3:58 am
well….. 100 Rifles.. Jim Brown and Ms. Welch.. one of the top ten Black movies
of the 70’s….. anything with Fred ” The Hammer ” Williamson…..
Paris Blues….. Sweet Sweetback’s Bad Ass Song……
lamesabassman…… it’s out there….. grab it…
February 1st, 2009 at 11:30 am
Great list, although “Something New” is DEFINITELY #1 on my list. How HOT is that love scene?!?!?!
February 1st, 2009 at 11:40 am
Current movie’s, not ancient movies from the “blaxploitation era” with caricatures of black men.
Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself, pay attention to the faces you see and don’t see in the media you consume.
February 1st, 2009 at 12:01 pm
true dat……
lamesabasman…… must we talk to Mr. Lee on this….
February 1st, 2009 at 3:31 pm
Actually one of the steamiest Interracial sex scenes on video has to be here: http://www.spike.com/video/kim-kardashian-ray-j/2820654
Not really sexy as it is basically a porn flick but absolutely worth checking out.
February 1st, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Seems the only place you see black men with non-black women on a regular basis in the media is porn anyway.
Doesn’t take Spike Lee to cast a black man in a role. Anyone can do it, they just have to use their vision instead of their eyes.
Not rapper’s either, black male actors.
We see black women with non-black male actors frequently. How about Fatman Scoop in a love scene with Constance Marie? I think that would be an interesting combination to say the least.
Or better yet, Hustleman, Tracey Morgan(Sp) with Kiera Knightly or even Emma Watson for that matter. “Hustleman does Hermione Grainger” wow what a headline.
What do you think?
February 1st, 2009 at 3:50 pm
Back when I had delusion’s of grandeur about writing in Hollywood, I had a theory that the way to make any show better was to add a few interracial couples, whatever the combination.
In fact I wrote a spec script for Roseanne, ThirtySomething, and a few others about main characters dating non-Caucasian characters.
Even A Different World was guilty of it by having the character Kim date Matthew, Freddie’s Caucasian cousin.
Not one black male character dated a non-black female, and the basis for having Kim date Matthew? Black men didn’t want her for her size or complexion or something silly like that.
February 1st, 2009 at 7:37 pm
It’s ok to have a comment.
February 1st, 2009 at 7:51 pm
why do you think that this is so…… Hollywood cant stand the comp….. or is the reality trip too real…. dig this…. went to see the Lena Horne story in Pasadena last week…. imagine a powerhouse like MGM and a punk named Louis B. Mayer telling
a star like Ms. Horne that she has a lock on a Broadway play called Showboat..
does the promos…. measured her for her wardrobe …. then gives Ava Gardener
the part and to make her look black have her wear the same makeup that Max Factor made for Ms. Horne….. “dark Egyptian” …… maybe the only way to do the right thing is to do it ourselves….. at times… I really think we dont really need Hollywood….. Asians have done it ….. Indians have done it ….just about
every race with pride in themselves have done it…… what is wrong with us…
and I hope the comeback isn’t the old crabs in a bucket deal….. that oven is cold….. so …where’s the beef…..
lamesabassman…….. can we ….. or what….
February 1st, 2009 at 8:05 pm
We most definitely can…
I have been checking out some of these new folk that made it happen. Tyler Perry, etc… Eventually I assume they will “Git Round to it!”
Then again maybe they won’t.
February 1st, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Seeing as how all but one of my relationships have been interracial, I loved these clips – especially the “Something New” video. The song is beautiful – just amazing (”Light On My Shoulder” by Susie Suh).
February 2nd, 2009 at 7:12 am
@ Art J: You said: “It would have been nice to include a movie with a black man with a non black woman.” Um, I did. :) Check out ALL the films listed in the Huffington Post piece: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/twanna-a-hines/top-10-movies-with-steamy_b_162432.html
@ lamesabassman: Thanks for the extra movies. :)
@ TamiG: Which love scene? The one where they’re sandwiched against the wall, swapping spit with her grabbing his hair and him grabbing her ass? :)
@ dudeguy: Indeed it is.
@ Buddha: You know what’s odd? I don’t ever remember that song in the movie. I was looking for the trailer and I stumbled upon that video first instead.
February 2nd, 2009 at 10:33 am
Thanks for the post, its good to know about this.
February 2nd, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Hollywood totally wimps out on black-man-with-non-black-woman scenes. There was a (pretty bad) movie some years ago with Denzel and Julia Roberts (I think it was “The Pelican Brief” – sounds like underwear for seabirds) where they had serious love scene potential and completely wussed out. No big loss on that one anyway, since Denzel is waaaaaay out of her league.
February 2nd, 2009 at 5:40 pm
my favorite: besieged with thandie newton and david thewlis. i also liked the adulterous pairing of kerry washington and james mcavoy in the last king of scotland . . . up until she got dismembered.
February 2nd, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Definitely Kerry Washington and Thandie Newton. Beautiful. I’d add… Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Nia Long, Zoe Saldana and our very own Twanna. The Black Goddess as Muse.
From a poem by Everett Hoagland…
“sweet baked apple dappled
cinnamon speckled
nutmeg freckled peach brandy
and amber wine woman
WOW
with your piping hot finger
popping black african pepper pot
not stopping steaming coffee flowing
creaming brown sugar growing cane candy
coming cocoa going crazy ’bout
brown sugar teases
GOOD GOD
and pleases
SWEET JESUS
that honey stained soul trained
slow molasses ass
HOTDAM
candied yam and sweet potato pie thighs
and raisin-tipped coconuts raising cane sugar
stone ground brown sugar bowl belly
to the bone to the bone”
February 3rd, 2009 at 1:05 am
killer prose….. Hollywood has so many issues that it never know which end is up
maybe if we boycotted a few movies then maybe they would actually make
something for all …..
lamesabassman…… yeah, I know …. put down the Red Stripe…. K…. done…

lamesabassman…… and the s.e.x. scene is sooooo deep….
February 5th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
” Which love scene? The one where they’re sandwiched against the wall, swapping spit with her grabbing his hair and him grabbing her ass? :)”
LOL Twanna!!!! That actually did turn me on the first time I saw it, but I’m just like that. The love scene that’s my favorite is the one where he is painting her toenails, and then starts kissing up her body…they mix in other scenes of them driving and kissing in the garden also, but MAN!!! I don’t know how Sanaa got through those scenes in one piece!! :-)
February 5th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
she didnt….. stunt double…..
lamesabassman……. oops…. did I spill the beans…..
July 4th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
I should assume the Brad Pitt role in any 2010 re-make of “Thelma And Louise,” in this version of the
girl-friend gothic of ‘93,one gal pal is black, one white, both professional women who drive to Texas see-
king different men from those in the corporate world, with the white bud desiring a blue-collar,”good ol’
boy” sort, while her African-American running mate seeks a strong black professional man.
The girls end up in Houston,go to a Country bar,and hear an all-black cowboy band called the
“Standout Brads,”the front-man of which is the handsomest of the VERY telegenic group of late 40ish to
early 60’s five-man act. Both women fall for him(played by yours truly, the updated Brad Pitt of the original
“Thelma And Louise,” which would highlight inter-racial female friendships when both women want the
same man,as well as inter-generational dating relationships.(Today’s gals are in their early 30’s while
the lead character,a former high school and college football star,is in his late 50’s,but looks 20 years younger than his age.)
What do you think of this movie idea, gals?(guys?)
