Thumbs up for romantic comedies. I haven’t seen Duplicity yet, but I really really really want to. Who doesn’t love Clive Owen?! Plus, I’m kind of a sap for romantic comedies in general and Julia Roberts movies in particular. Speaking of “married men” (yesterday’s Funky Brown Chick post) and Julia Roberts, Netflix or rent Closer and My Best Friend’s Wedding if you haven’t already seen them. Good stuff. On a completely different note, I could be wrong but — based on her choices of leading men — I get the impression Julia Roberts is down with the brown. Remember Steven Soderbergh‘s Full Frontal with JR and Blair Underwood? And, what was the one with Denzel Washington? GO JULIA!!! Wait, shit, where was I? Oh, yes. Right. Ahem. Okay. Moving right along …
Romantic comedies. I recently found out Someone Like You is available to watch streaming RIGHT NOW for 100% zero pennies (i.e. “free”). If you can’t see it below, drop by Hulu for the full feature length film.

K…. let's go with the classics…… ” West Side Story….”
lamesabassman……. does ” This Christmas ” count 2….
Julia didn't get it on with Denzel in that movie, though, despite TONS of room for a romantic plotline. I don't know about the other ones because I don't see a whole lot of Julia Roberts movies. Personally, I think she's overrated. But she's better than Sandra Buttock.
i don't really get the appeal of julia roberts other than she usually bangs the guys she stars in the movies with…i do watch and like alot of romantic comedies, but they usually aren't good movies and i would probably deny i watched any if asked….;)
guess the question that floats is ….. did Denzel get lucky between takes….. or since
he had steak waiting at home …… he passed on the liver in front of him….
and the only movie deemed excellent in the romantic comedies mode is….
” Some like it Hot…”
lamesabassman…… am with you on this…… dont get Julia's appeal…. at all….
I imagine it'd be hard to separate “acting” like you like someone and actually “liking” them.
Have you seen that movie “Cruel Intentions?” Ryan and Reese were new lovers when they made this film. There's this scene where he says something like: “I don't really love you. I only said that to get you in bed.” She starts crying then hauls off and punches him in the face. According a behind-the-scenes thing on E! a week or so ago, Ryan says that ad lib wasn't in the script and it was a really hard scene.
Anyway, that's a looong, tangential way of saying: yeah, I can imagine it'd be hard to separate fact from fiction when you're in from of the camera saying thing directly to someone's face.
By the way, can I just say DAMN I love film. :) Seriously, I'm kind of hardcore with my movie-going stuff. Remember this: http://funkybrownchick.com/2005/11/28/wouldn’t-…
oooooootay…… now I get it ….. that had me on the ropes for a long time….. if you connect his delivery to her shortstop gaze….. it now fits…. that's a chilly way to be
to any one….. that's why one should not play where they eat…. for, life presents
you with so many tables to enjoy….. dont sit too close to the door……
lamesabassman…… go deep….
