Well it was a good run, wasn’t it? I’m ending this site so I can focus on my book. This is my last post, so please read it carefully. I’ve kept Funky Brown Chick going in different forms since 2005, but now it’s time to stop. I’ve got other writing projects that demand my time. Namely, my book. I wanted to have a first draft done by the end of March, and it’s not done yet. I still have two chapters that need work. And, as long as I keep this site going, it only serves as a distraction. So, although it’s been a great time and I appreciate you all hanging out on my Funky Brown Chick spot, it’s time to say goodbye. Oh, yeah, one more thing before I go … check your calendar. :) I’ve done this before. See you all tomorrow when we’re back to our regularly scheduled program. And, by the way, yes, I’m goofy and nerdy enough to actually ENJOY April Fools’ Day jokes. :) And, yes, the book WILL get done. Almost there. Update coming soon.

Can you say “PANIC!” Damn, it's going to be a long day.
Look, I understand about needing to finish a book. I'm the process too. But I really enjoy your writing and will miss your topics. Please make sure you let us know when your book comes out and where we can get it. From one Chicago girl to another, good luck and keep your head up.
All the best,
Pam Jackson
You got me !
Oh no, now I feel bad! It was an April Fools Day joke.
I'm not going anywhere. Interestingly, this site actually HELPS my writing instead of distracting me from it. It's kind of a daily exercise in creative, forcing me to write something new almost everyday. Keeps the writing machine going.
I came “this” close to getting got by this one.
I'm thinking in the back of my head ” where will i spew my random sexiness?!…..oh my!!” =0
I knew it. I vowed to never again fall for an April Fool's joke ever since I spent half an hour last year trying to figure out how to activate Gmail's Custom Time feature that used an “e-flux capacitor”. Yeah, I know. I'm a fucking idiot.
lol… You know I pretty much knew that's what you were gonna do chica lol…
haha Lauren, now thats funny with the E-Flux lmao
Check out Google today – the link to their new product “CADIE” is a classic!

Aww, you got me! I was feeling pretty sad/bad for a good minute, I even stopped reading mid-paragraph to ~reflect~, haha! I'm so glad you're staying. I look forward to your book, too. So keep on workin' :)
Lol..I was just thinking I hope she's kidding..I enjoy your blog too much to see it go now that I've just gotten comfortable browsing.
Great site. glad you're sticking around.
Alright, Alright. You got me good, but see here missy. You better finish that book.
I read an interview you did with Clutch Mag and so this was the first time I visited your blog. I was very excited when I read about the subject content you discuss so imagine my initial shock when I read that you were hanging ending the blog!!! After I continued to read the post I realized it was an April Fools joke; so you got me!!! Gotta love a good April Fools joke!
Cheers!!
