Manly Monday Pick: Adam Lambert (Glambert perfomance @ AMAs)
Who doesn’t love a (bi-curious) nice Jewish boy? If the mock cock suck at last night’s American Music Awards didn’t win you over, I don’t know what will!! For me, Glambert is a new discovery. I don’t watch American Idol. So, truth be told, I was wholly unaware and uninterested in the kid until I read his Out magazine interview (part 1, part 2) as well as EIC Aaron Hicklin’s open letter. (”Getting gay stars like yourself [on our cover] is another matter. Much easier to stick you in Details, where your homosexuality can be neutralized by having you awkwardly grabbing a woman’s breast and saying, ‘Women are pretty.; So are kittens, Adam, but it doesn’t mean you have to make out with them.’”) Love Lambert’s classy response. (If you missed it: Chill. I’m not your puppet.) Love him. He’s hardly the first gay / bisexual / bi-curious / gender bending / whatever (who the fuck cares because it’s his business, not mine) rockstar. We’ve been in these waters before, and he’s definitely making bolder moves than David Bowie’s public denials and shame about ever touching a penis. Talk about (social) climate change.

I can’t say I’m am stoked about the performance as you were. The song wasn’t that great and his voice wasn’t nearly as good as I remebered it being.
Having said that, it’s good to see that we (well, at maybe just a growing minority of us) are open-minded enough to show a performance that included two dudes snogging on a major awards show.

I really, really wanted to like A.Lam’s performance, but all of the shrieking and faux “I’m so edgy ‘cuz I did S&M on stage” (yeah, he’s a dude, S&M onstage still overplayed) turned me off instead. I haz a sad. :( Michelle Malkin is one of the worst people in the world (seriously!), but damn if she wasn’t right about his performance: “I don’t care about Adam Lambert’s sexuality. What he did at the American Music Awards was…certainly not ‘music’ or ‘entertainment.’ It sounded like kittens being boiled in hot oil while a kindergarten class pounded on ’80s synthesizers and a Rock Band drum set.”

I love Adam Lambert and was beyond upset when he lost to that little twerp. Adam is an amazing performer and I loved him on the AMAs that night. I’d like to think he’s Bi, but I think that he really is 100 gay, but who cares??? He is truly talented. As for guy-on-guy action, yeah it’s pretty sexy and you can get some good tips as a straight woman on how to please a man. I’m hoping there is a sex tape of Adam somewhere–YUM!!!
