Santigold: Hot, Sexy Brown Woman Alert!!!

If we’re friends on Facebook, you already know I’ve recently discovered Santigold. By “discovered” I mean, yesterday at lunch at FreeFoods, a great song blasted overhead. Wondering what is was, I whipped out my touch phone, threw it in the air and loaded Shazam. Voila, L.E.S. Artists! It appears Santigold’s first singles dropped in 2008. But Rolling Stone, always in touch with what’s new, already named her an Artist to Watch in 2007. I’m late to the game on this one, so many of you have probably already heard of her. In any case, I’m posting the video because I LOVE it. Hope you like it, too!
In case you were wondering … Nope, no one’s paying me to plug her or otherwise endorse her stuff. I just like the music.

I’m always being called a music geek (among other things), and although the name is familiar I’d never heard Santigold’s music. Rather catchy, yet she strongly reminds me of Tegan & Sara. If you don’t know them, they are twin sisters from Canada.

Hey, yeah Santigold is the ish. I mean, she has been rocking out for a while now, cant believe your late on this one and you’re in New York City. We new yorkers should be up on the new ish most of the time, but its all good. She’s the person Jay got that joint “Brooklyn we go hard”.. Yeah, she’s amazing!

Hate to burst your bubble, but she is very very old. Her album rocks, but she has been around before 2007, on Mark Ronsons Version singing “Pretty Green”
Also she used to be called “Santogold,” but decided to change it.
But if MIA is queen of this dub style alternative electro genre.
