At the moment, I’m working on a piece about John Mayer. Quite frankly, I’m wholly uninterested in what he does or doesn’t do with his cock. That said, the brouhaha around his comments in Playboy inspired discussion — and, thereby, my decision to write — about sex & race/ethnicity in general, and interracial fucking in particular. (As most of you know, it’s a topic to which I’ve already devoted much attention.)
Okay, so, on Tuesday, I’m performing at my friend Abiola Abrams‘ reading series, Kiss & Tell Live. I’ll either do a piece about: (A) the first time I ever slept with someone who wasn’t black; (B) my views on interracial dating vis-à-vis John Mayer’s recent Playboy interview; or (C) an absurdest, political & completely fictional story about losing my virginity TO John Mayer titled: “Hot Brown P*ssy & Immature White D*ck: Why Can’t Louis Farrakhan and David Duke Just Get Along?” ;) Use the comments to tell me which of the three stories you’d like to hear. Can’t be COMPLETELY sure, but my tentative plan is to post the piece on Funky Brown Chick Tuesday morning and perform it that evening. (That way, you guys get to see it first.) I’ll keep you posted. There’s a couple of articles on this topic with very active comments going at Salon.com. Check it out if it interests you. I find this subject to be really interesting: the intersection between sexual attraction and race (such as what determines what your sexual “type” is, and how do prejudices play into this).
Maybe you could get your own heated discussion going here :)
As to my vote on your reading — I can’t decide. The pervy part of me is going with A, because it wants to know about your sex life! But the intellectual side of me votes B, because I want to hear your serious analysis of the issue.
In trying to write Column A you are just going to end up with Column B, so I’d go with that.

Twanna, you’re an awesome enough writer that I’m sure you can combine all three and it’d be the best post ever. In fact, I think it’d be rather difficult to write about any one of those topics and not have it slightly divert into the other two.

I was pissed off at the White Supremacist comments– I don’t care about who he dips his wick in. But, I used to think he was cute and his music is still good– he is just an annoying douche bag. But as for your writing subject, I really like B. It seems like there would be more meat in exploring the subject of interracial dating in the context of that moronic Mayer interview. I don’t think he’s racist, I just think that he’s insecure and emotionally retarded.
