Oh, my sweet babies!! :) I left you sans blog posts for two whole days. Mama’s sorry. I’ve been busy with stuff. Good stuff. Last night, I went to Yuca Bar in the East Village to drink icy mojitos and margaritas with fellow blogger buddies / pundits / sexy people Liza (from Culture Kitchen), Baratunde, Jose Vilson, Tim Moore, Caldecutt, Nichelle and a new woman whose name I didn’t catch. In other news, I FINALLY got a phone to replace my broken one. :) It’s a Blackberry Curve Sunset, and it looks like this:

Ummmm … what else? Oh, yeah, my jury duty wrapped up a while ago. It was about some old dude who slipped on muddy rain water on Chelsea Market’s entryway in 2005. I was waiting for the frail man with glasses and a shattered shoulder blade to scream out, “YOU WANT THE TRUTH??? YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!” Alas, it never happened. During the second week in court, both sides quietly agreed to settle. Best part about the case? My fellow jury members were kickass. I’ve soooooo gotta write about them one day. Specifically, one guy (a delicious fashion designer based here in New York) was particularly cute. I forced him to kiss me on his rooftop. Sexiest quote ever? “I design women’s clothing. Of course I’m a romantic.” He’s too cute! Hmmm …

Ooooh! I *LOVE* Time Out New York!!! They recently said, “In the Flesh erotic reading series at Happy Ending on Jan 17 will give you plenty of aural pleasure.” I’m reading there tonight. I’m a little nervous about tonight. Not sure why; I’m only sharing details about my sex life with coworkers, close friends, acquaintances and complete strangers. What’s there to be nervous about? ;) Not sure which piece to do for the show. My favorites are the goofy/funny ones. But, here’s the thing … Should I read a piece that’s “MORE funny and LESS sexy” or “LESS sexy and MORE funny”. It’s an erotic reading series so it makes sense to side with sexy. On the other hand, it’s at a bar and we’re all gonna be a little boozy. So, maybe funny makes sense. Hmmm … Funny or sexy? Damn Hell Ass Kiddie Party

With a vengeance that would make John Rambo jealous, Sid and I crash a Kiddie Party on the Upper East Side. We didn’t plan to take on the kiddies. It just happened. And, how does something like that “just happen” you might ask? Well, it starts like this …

Sid is my cyber twin. I’ve been reading her blog for quite a while now. She’s funny. Really funny. And, it seems that we have a lot in common. So, for a few weeks now, we’ve been planning to meet. We settle on Tuesday. I show up early, and I’m quite surprised to discover: Kids. Everywhere. Short kids. Tall kids. Skinny kids. Fat kids. Loud kids. And, I mean really loud kids. Actually, now that I think about it, all of those kids are loud. It seems that the meeting place that we’ve picked out is having a Kiddie Birthday Party, and we’ve unknowingly crashed it.

Sid shows up and we snag a table a few feet away from the Kiddie Party. Almost instantly, I know that I like her. She’s the kind of person that everyone should meet at least once in their lifetime: warm, welcoming, and reserved all at the same time. We drink red wine. We laugh. We share stories about bloggers, men, jobs, boys, Chicago, more men, Indian food on Devon Street, more boys, London, and other juicy [but secret] tales. The kids eventually leave the building. (No matter what anyone says, we neither threatened nor tortured them; they left in and of their own volition.) Sid and I leave as well. Before parting, we tell each other that we should make plans to hang out again soon. And, I really hope that we do.

Mysteries Are So Juicy

Red wine. Small children laughing and screaming. Tales of sugar daddy hunting. Naked folks. Indian food on Devon Street in Chicago. Sleeping with 60 year-old men. If I weren’t there myself, I wouldn’t have believed it. But, I was there. And, I was there with another blogger. Yes, folks, it’s true. Yesterday, I had my second In-Person Blogger Meeting. The question is: who did I meet? Here is a hint. Below are four sentences. One sentence will be the 1st sentence of tomorrow’s post; the other three are just products of my wild imagination. Guess which is which.

[A] Eating Thai food with the mysterious Fastlad on Christopher Street, we discover that we actually have a lot in common.

[B] When I started reading Grow Some [Testicles], I never thought that I would eventually end up swapping NYC dating stories with Kristin over red wine in Brooklyn.

[C] Sid and I crash a Kiddie Party in the Upper East Side with a vengeance that leaves John Rambo jealous.

[D] Tonito Bandito is the sweetest man on earth. During his recent New York business trip, he carves out time to sit with me in Battery Park; we affectionately shove New York hot dogs inside of each others’ mouths to show off our, um, “techniques”.

I Have Juicy Stories for You

I’m having a really hard time writing this post. So much has happened in the past few days that I could tell you one of three or so different, interesting stories. The first story is about my recent trip to Belfast as well as about how and why this little brown chick fell in love with Northern Ireland; the second is about snogging; and the third is about my very first, face-to-face blogger meeting! In the end, I’ve decided to let you guys choose:

(A) When I see the murals of the men wearing black hoods over their faces and pointing AK47s directly at me, I instantly know that Belfast is a different kind of place …

(B) To snog or not to snog? That was the question and I, unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), chose not to snog …

(C) I feel myself grow nervous as I take the first steps toward the friendly-looking woman sitting on the bench. I know she is the right person when she cracks a very sweet smile and asks: “Are you Stolie?”

Ooooh, A Secret Rendezvous

Oh, how I wish that I could report that I’ve snogged some chap. But, the truth is: I haven’t. I’ve been working. Sure, I’ve met a few boys here and there. The odd thing is that they seem to fall into two extremes: [1] cute, nice, sweet, shy British boys who (pretend not to) stare all night and [2] dirty older men who want me to go home with them. Ewww! :-(

On a completely unrelated topic, I have news. I am going to have my first “blogger meeting.” Yes, folks, it’s true. I’m going to meet a real, live blogger face-to-face in a matter of, well, a couple of hours. I am soooo absurdly excited. Guess who I will meet. Will it be the funniest man in the UK, Jay? Or, maybe the fiery red-head, Nics? Perhaps Surly Girl, the Brit Chick with the gusto-packed blog? Or, the tell-it-like-it is, blunt, bold and mysterious Darwin?
